4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Smell of figs, sweet dark fruits. Belgian candy mixed with a sweet roasted malted-ness. This is one sweet stout. Not in a chocolaty way, but it has a supreme dark fruit sweetness that embodies it flavor.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, brown, mostly lasting. Body is black. Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (dark chocolate, roasted/burnt grain), with notes of alcohol, plastic, medicine, marshmallow. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety/creamy texture, lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic.
Pretty underwhelming...simple and somewhat rough malty nose, and the phenols are unhealthy. Very alcoholic too. I haven’t had much luck with Weyerbacher over the years and this one isn’t changing that trend unfortunately.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Belgian esters with notes of chocolate on the aroma. Appearance is black with a tan head. Flavor again has Belgian esters with notes of chocolate. Mouthfeel is full bodied. Overall, it's ok.

Bottle. Black like the ship they steal in restaurant at the end of the universe. Dark brown and orange head. Mmmm...Smells amazing. Cocoa, booze, chocolate, roast, vanilla, marshmallow, orange, and happiness. Stuff of this abv should not be so smooth. Silky chocolate with a nice citrus bitter balance. Caramel and vanilla with a cherry note come out as it warms. Fudge and peanut butter in the finish with a mellow warming booze. This a bad day made good now

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black color with brown head. Aroma of roasted caramel , coffee, dark fruits, alcohol. Same combination in the taste with touch of Belgian yeast. Smooth ,roasted bitterness in the aftertaste. A good brew, but on some stage the presence of alcohol shows up too much.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 mL bottle for rating #1200. Pours black with a brown head. Fruity molasses, dark fruit, anise aroma, cocoa hints. Flavor is heavy on the chocolate, with anise and raisin, nutty with a little yeasty twist. Gets a bit roasty in the finish. Really liking it.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Black pour with a 1 finger foamy head that fades to a thick film and leaves good lacing. Aroma is interesting but all over the place. Roasted peanuts, bubblegum, roast, raisins, chocolate, and dark bread. Taste is just not for me. Such an odd combo. Bubblegum, red wine, dark bread, sweet raisins and lots of charred wood. Hate the vineous finish. Not my thing.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention 2015. Pours rich black-brown with a creamy beige head. Good and sweet with nice chocolate character, some Belgian candi sugar. Pretty big bodied with light to average carbonation. Perhaps faint oxidation coming forth in the finish, with notes of raisins, other dark fruits, hearty chocolate. Pretty nicely balanced overall. I like it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 mL bottle. The pour is a nice medium black with a couple fingers of darker khaki head and no lace left behind. The aroma is a little boozy up front. There is a good sharp chocolate and some darker fruits. There is a subtle red-wine like twinge on the back and a healthy dose of roasted malts. The flavor is just as sharp up front. Booze and chocolate dominate the front end. There is a good roasty malt and dark fruit that develop through the entirety of the flavor. The mouth feel is really thin. There is a light carbonation that lets the feel just fall off, making the flavors seem a little sharper perhaps. Aftertaste is really chocolatey and nice. Not bad, but it could be so much better
