4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml corked bottle. An opaque black beer, with a large, frothy, lightly lacing, mostly lasting, brown head. The aroma is moderately to heavily malty (roasted grain, molasses, chocolate), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of blueberry, alcohol, hint of vanilla and dried fruits. The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium to full body, creamy/syrupy texture, soft carbonation, very long finish with moderate bitterness, moderately alcoholic. I had average expectrations on this beer, but it really outwent them. Outstanding aroma and appearence, on the sweet side, but with enouigh final bitterness. Lightly syrupy/sticky, but overall creamy with a lot of chocolate and even some berries. The only minus is the price...

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. It pours black with a small brown head. The aroma has cherries, plum, dark bruit. Pretty fruity with light toast and spice. The flavor is ashy with some tobacco, black cherries and raisin bread. A little syrupy and alcoholic. Very rich and fruity which keeps the high alcohol from being too solvent-like. Low acidity and no acrid black malt character. Overall, pretty good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottled 03/16/16. Deep ebony body has a thin film of lasting bubbles, Nose is clove, soy, overripe apple, fig, red wine and a touch of tobacco. Flavors of dark bread, clove, semi-sweet chocolate, soy, sherry, vanilla, date, and apple. Long finish has some molasses and cream. Medium-heavy body has medium carbonation and a dessert slant, but never cloying. The 11.8% shows a bit more than I would like, but not overbearing.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Opaque stouty brownish-black pour, thick espresso colored foamy head, ridiculous retention. Nose is fruity, hint of Belgiany funk, roast, milk chocolate, coffee, raisins, brown sugar, plums. Mouth is full bodied, relatively sweet, oily, touch of smoke, dried fruit, tobacco, chocolate, balanced by an underlying bitterness. Definitely would be better on a cold winter evening but tastes pretty good in late July -- humidity and all.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
0.75l corked bottle brought home from Cask Pub & Kitchen. Oh, this is about as dark as they come. Like pouring fresh black oil in the glass and it has a big but quickly fizzing away dark chocolate colored head. It has a really nice woody vinous dark roasted aroma. Yeah, it definitely has some dark roasted tones this. Slightly salty as well. Nice. Lots of flavor! Been storing this in the cellar for close up to two years now, and I’m glad I did. It feels really round in the taste. It somehow doesn’t have the mouthfeel that I expect a beer of this caliber to have and it’s a tad higher on the bubbles than I prefer in my imp stouts. The flavors however are all delicious and really integrated. Dark chocolate, lots of roasted malts. Some woody bourbon tones. Slightly salty and licorice in the aftertaste. There’s also a fair amount of alcohol, the stingy warming kind in the finish and aftertaste. Yeah, nice. 25.07.2014

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle @ Whole Foods. This was the worst Imperial Stout i have ever tasted. Looks great. Smells okay. The taste was, at first, pretty good. On the tongue it was similiar to a Foreign Stout, but then the palate was so aweful i had to ask for my money back :P
Had that typical sour fruit aftertaste that so many Belgian Ales have...which i don’t particularly like.
Sorry but i cannot recommend this one.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This bottled brew from a rating party poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark black brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was dark malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong mild roasted malt aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of roasted malt vinous and dark malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Good stout flavor, a little smokey and rich but not overly so. Good balance at taste. Palate is strong alcohol and an odd bitter finish. Fair pairing with food.
