aged one year... pours black with mild champagne bubbles. nose is carmel, toffee and dark fruit soaked in bourbon. mouthfeel is lots of carbonation, almost too much for a beer. taste is toffee and dark fruit and cherries. finishes with fermented fruit of mild bourbon. good, but there are better.

Botella 65 cl tomada en el momento en el kraken 17..01..2016. Belgian Imperial rusian stout.

Bottle - from sampler pack. Very black - opaque. Strong roasty aroma with some noticeable alcohol. Really good. Quite strong very malty with some even wine-like flavor. Warming.

Pours almost black with very little light. brown head. Aroma is smoke, roasted malt, raisins ans something else I can’t figure out. Taste is initially a little sweet with dark fruits but then I get some dark chocolate. Full bodied with a bitter finish. I notice a slight warming but it is not bad at all for an 11.8% abv beer. Despite being Belgian Inspired the typical Belgian traits are just about nonexistent. Overall it is a decent imperial stout.

Pours a very dark brown brew, with a thin espresso-like head that disappears quite quickly. Smells of dark cherries, almonds, cocoa, dark chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla and alcohol. Tastes like dark chocolate, milk chocolate, cherry brandy, coffee and vanilla. The alcohol is a bit overwhelming after the drink gets too warm, but before that happens, it is quite alright. Smooth mouthfeel, hot and bitter aftertaste.

Aroma - dark chocolate, roast, and abundant alcohol. Appearance - bistre dark body, with a fallow brown head very minimal. The head rings out with just a bit of foam film in the center. Taste - rich dark chocolate, cherry, roasted malt, anise, and tobacco. There is a booming amount of alcohol as well. Palate - full body, sticky and slick feel, average carbonation, and rich dark chocolate and alcohol finish.

12 oz bottle, poured into a snifter at ~40 degrees F. Appearance: Pours your usual stout impenetrable black, though it does contain a good amount of tiny, dark brown bubbles which lines the sides and bottom of the glass. It briefly forms a thin, somewhat fizzy head of the same dark brown bubbles, which dies away swiftly and leaves almost no trace. Smell: Dark chocolate, caramel, and plums well out of the glass, heavy with sweetness and more than a hint of spice. Taste: Black licorice, heavy on the anise, opens the flavor profile, and hangs around for the entire process. Sweetness surges about beneath it, roiling with caramel notes, which mingle with plummy and cherry tones. Bittersweet dark chocolate rounds out the flavor experience, which finishes with a bit of heat and astringency (this effect oddly diminishes as the beer warms - that, or my mouth simply grew accustomed to it), and leaves a lingering aftertaste of anise. Mouthfeel: Thick, smooth, and creamy, this is definitely a stout. The carbonation is quite lively. Overall: Aside from the heat and astringency in the finish, this is an enjoyable beer. It’s a little heavy on the black licorice flavors, but still presents a good depth and layering of flavors. I’d have this one again.

Drank with Masum at my place 14-12-2015. Good beer. Taste is a bit peculiar. Lots of alcohol in the taste. Roasted, bitter finish.

12 Ounce bottle from not sure. Black with tiny ring and some lace. Woody boozy coffee chocolate aroma with just a touch of glue. Dark roasted chocolate covered figs and plums and coffee maple syrup sweetness with woody bitterness that lingers with chocolate. Full body oily/velvety. A little fruity for my taste but still very good.
