4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pitch black, huge brown head with excellent persistence. Aroma of roast malt, very chocolatey, and raspberry. Extremely smooth roast malt flavor, sweet up front and bitter in back, intense chocolate the whole way, and woody oak character on the finish. Not much linger. Very full body, but not sticky, and moderate carbonation. Fantastic.

Top.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep brownish black on tap with thin ring of tan brown head that leaves light lace. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malts, and a hint of earthy licorice. Taste follows, like the base of the Sunday morning stout before the barrel. Booze is well hidden, thick mouth, solid imperial stout.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle@home, from Heinen’s, Cleveland, USA. Strong aroma of licorice, alcohol and some malts. Pitch black color with minimal deep beige head. Strong, averagely balanced, smooth taste with dark berries, some licorice and roasted malts. Alcohol clearly present. Medium taste spectrum and long aftertaste with rubbery dark berries and a hint of roasted malts. Medium/strong body with low/medium carbonation. Overall, nice combination of Belgian strong notes and IS. Could be more complex and perhaps a bit less strong. Now the alcohol is too much present.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
DATE TASTED: March 1, 2016... GLASSWARE: Maudite snifter... OCCASION: Super Tuesday ground zero...Trump and Clinton?... APPEARANCE: black as pitch body pours out with a brown simmering head that forms a halo and an atoll atop the body... AROMA: heavy vinous/bourbon elements are drawn thick chocolate... prune, grapefruit, licorice, roasted caramel pile into the profile... a dangerous level of alcohol... what really wins is the breath of bread that suggests a balanced insinuation... PALATE:the word velvet is indeed a truthful labeling from the brewer, with the thick and creamy, full-bodied stout coating the mouth from start to finish; the opening invites some bubble and the end warms without intrusion... at 11.8% ABV, unbelievably smooth and sweet... TASTE: a luscious red on a collision course with a velvety chocolate stout and a caramel-rich, toasted bock--enough flavor to have highlights of citrus, grapefruit, grape and raisin, slight honey thrown in... warming alcohol is palpable, which takes the overall taste profile down a notch--but still shows the respect for a misnomer of a beer if there ever was one... OVERALL: Weyerbacher used to only go big--which made many of its beers blend together in the sameness of over-the-top alcoholic potency... Tiny is a culmination of sorts, in that it rights the past wrongs and blesses us that demands a stand-alone experience to partner with a cold, windy night....or a night when the country’s balance hangs....

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a bottle. Pours a deep dark brown with a tan ring. Light carbonation, clingy with lots of lacing. Aroma of Belgian spices and some alcohol with a hint of wood or smoke. Medium body, slightly oily. Smooth creamy texture. Taste is dark roasted malts, earthy, with some spice flavors. Smooth finish with a nice warming sensation. Good but not as good as I had hoped for.
