COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 750ml corked ’n’ caged bottles this will be and unfiltered, fully bottle conditioned version of the super popular Double Simcoe. Expect Cask taste in a bottle, with more pronounced hoppy flavor and aroma due to being unfiltered. Also, carbonation will be a bit higher as is usual in our cork n cage series in keeping with tradition. It all comes together to form a uniquely great experience for hopheads.

Maybe I’m not the biggest fan of Simcoe hops? It’s got a pretty high ABV, so I taste alcohol and malt balanced with hops bitterness, as opposed to hops jumping out. Disappointing to a degree, but when you get to try something new that a beer buddy shares, it’s still a great experience nonetheless. Pretty high carbonation.

This is a powerful Ipa with a lot of flavor. Lots of floral notes in the taste. Really nice golden brown cloudy color. - Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours cloudy deep reddish amber with a gigantic beige head that dissipates slowly and lacing well. Aroma has notes of citrus, pine, caramel. Flavor odds about the same, medium sweet, medium bitter. Full body, rich chewy mouthfeel. Drinks like it has some age on it, but still pretty good.

750mL, corked and caged. My, that was a loud pop! Will take a while to compose myself, I think. Nose is extremely woody with gritty litter, bright citrus, sweet fruit and light yeast. Odin’s ravens, that’s incredible! Sort of a deep blood red - brown body with a huge foamy beige head. Taste is strongly bitter and cleansing, stripping with light astringency but a ton of hop juice, tempered in bitterness somewhat by sweetness, but by the time we get to that finish and aftertaste, man, it’s supreme IIPA dryness/hoppiness. Fullish body with a pleasant medium carbonation and deep -- if thin -- caramel base. Chest warming and a bit alcoholic with quick consumption. Great stuff.

Simply a bold punch of hops with enough body to give you something to enjoy. The unfiltered version is also a real treat.

Very good although I think I like the unfiltered version better. Dark orange with decent head, thick and hazy, looks good. Aromas of pine, bread and some citrus. The hops are dominant and, coupled with the fairly high carbonation, a little harsh. Still, pretty well balanced with a hearty breadiness and sweet malt. Drank better the second day when the carbonation dropped.

Bottle thanks to Bruce. Pours a cloudy orange with medium frothy off white head leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is strong pine and floral hops. Medium mouthfeel with strong dry hop and light bitterness. A very good IIPA from Weyerbacher.
