COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 750ml corked ’n’ caged bottles this will be and unfiltered, fully bottle conditioned version of the super popular Double Simcoe. Expect Cask taste in a bottle, with more pronounced hoppy flavor and aroma due to being unfiltered. Also, carbonation will be a bit higher as is usual in our cork n cage series in keeping with tradition. It all comes together to form a uniquely great experience for hopheads.

750 bottle from 2012 Winter Secret Santa. Hazy and muddy. Not a big hop presence. Slightly malty and sweet. Pleasant. New or aged bottle?

Bottle. Pours a nice hazy amber color. Lots of carbonation, with a thick white head. Piney, slightly floral aroma. Tastes much as it smells, very piney with a touch of earthiness. Goes down smooth, with a touch of bitterness and dryness in the finish, with some alcohol warmth. Not nearly as hoppy as I might have expected initially, though the flavor builds up. Pretty good brew, especially for a single hop type. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Visible sediment in a very hazy pour. This beer had strong hops, but was not very smooth. Strong pine aftertaste.

Pours cloudy copper with a thick foamy head and thick lacing. Aroma of pine. Initial flavor is hop heavy, but did not develop as much as expected. Lingering aftertaste of light bitter hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2013 This is a unique brew! They are right the first sip is full of bubbles. Lots of carbonation in this one (it dies down as the beer sits, thank god!) Heavy resin & citrus in the aromatics. Taste (after the carbonation) has a slightly botanic bitterness that gets stronger but quickly tappers off into a rolling sweetness. I don’t pick out any real particular tastes but the ones I do are an acetic/vinegary orange + pine herbalness... Kind of weird, lots of "resin" and citrus. Palate is thick and lively. Overall, I like and would love to try the filtered version!

750 mL bottle. Hazy orange-gold with a small white head. Nothing special to look at. The aroma improves the experience, bringing a pineapple fruitiness along with citrus (grapefruit) and caramel. The flavour is where this one shines, carrying over all of the aspects of the aroma, and filling them out. A little sweet. Full body. Light carbonation. This would be an interesting one with which to do a vertical.

Bottle. Hazy amber color. Beige head with lacing. Quite a lot of visible yeast (?) at the bottom of glass. Strong aroma of fruity hops. Slightly sour taste of hops. Bitter finish.
