2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bazooka Joeís favorite beer. Holy bubblegum on the aroma with a hint of apple. poured very slight amber color with some protein haze, good retention and lacing. flavor was much the same as the aroma lots and lots of bubblegum and not a whole lot else going on. Something must have happened during fermentation. medium bodied with some pretty good carbonation. Overall just not enough complexity and too much bubblegum.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Appearance: amber orange, near white creamy head. Aroma: minimal aroma--dusty citrus? Taste: weird taste; hint of honeyed graham crackers before a bit of hops dries everything out. Finish: aggressively dry finish, surprising alcohol burn. Notes: Substandard. On draft at Quench! In Silver Spring, MD.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pour is golden and hazy. Thick white head that dissipates quick. Subtle Belgian funk and well balanced malt profile. Hops are light and just a well done interpretation of the style.

Pours a clocloudy copper. Honey, sweet malts, yeast on the nose. Sweet citrus, slight bitterness. Tangy, honey flavors. An interesting American take on a Belgian ale.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks David C. Slightly hazy deep golden. Fruity aroma with malt, some caramel and candy-ish notes. Sweetish flavor, fruity, slightly caramelly, slightly spicy, with a drier finish. Medium-bodied.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a mildly hazy burnt copper color. Before the dregs were poured in, it was clear amber. Thereís about one and a half fingers of an eggshell-colored head, having that soapy froth expected from a Belgian-style ale. The lacing left behind is pretty decent.
S: This has plenty of fresh-cut apples, some hints of apricot, and a little pear, as well. The fruitiness here is good, and itís subtly backed by a bready yet spicy yeast note. I even pick up a kiss of hops. While the aroma is íbasicí, thereís no doubt it works quite well.
T: It starts off pretty fruity (apricots, apples, and pears mainly), before itís quickly replaced with bready notes. It finishes pretty spicy, as well: the black pepper and herbs I pick up slightly reminds me of a saison. But make no mistake, this isnít a saison. No real complaints apart from the lack of depth.
M: Any Belgian ale worth its weight in ghost chilies should always finish dry and somewhat fizzy - in laymanís terms, it should feel like itís evaporating off the tongue. This one does that. However, it seems to rely too much on the powerful carbonation doing that job, as once that goes, its residue sticks around on the tongue a bit more than it should.
O: Another solid offering from Weyerbacher. They hit the basics bang on, but there isnít quite enough ízingí to make this a stellar example of the style. Still, Iíd drink it again.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light amber appearance. Slight haze with particulate matter dispersed throughout the beer. A nice sized white head with good head retention and lacing. Moderate citrus notes on the aroma. Flavor has citrus notes upfront with moderate pepper notes on the end with hints of bubblegum. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is medium dry. The carbonation is medium. Overall, it's an easy drinking beer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy amber pour. Nose of yeast spice and fruit esters with bitter pine and a weird smoke-like aspect. Flavor is fruity malt, Belgian candy, deep toasted malt, biscuit, and finishes with a deep, dry, pine bitterness. Lingering pine and fruit. Okay but a tad odd.
