Pours orange with a white fluffy head. Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus and yeast. Taste is moderate bitters with some sweetening. Medium bodied, alcohol well hidden, smooth with a quick finish. Overall this is a delicious IIPA that holds up well throughout.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bomber bottle). Brought to Mark's house to split. The bottle is clearly past prime as it is a springtime beer and now November. Nice hazy amber complexion. Bitter hop flavor.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a nice hazy orange color with nice foamy head. Aroma pulls a nice hop and citus note. To taste you pick up the hops immediately with a nice malt note on the back end. Finishes great on the palate. This is a great beer!

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Potent aroma of toasted hops, sweet hops, wheat, pale malt, hay and caramel. Flavor is the same. Bitterness is strong, hops are sweet, finish is sticky. Another IIPA from Weyerbacher but I like the diversity in them.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
it has a real aggressive hop bite with a slight sweetness. It calms on the palate quickly and leaves a nice taste in your mouth.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The unfiltered-ness of this beer is evident in the cloudy hues of orange and amber, as well as the unctuous, rich, yeasty notes that waft up from the active head. Lots of fruit, moderately bitter, and very memorable.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from bottle into a snifter glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazy deep amber color with a thick and massive head of white foam. The head has an amazing level of retention, slowly fading to leave a moderate level of bubbly lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is massive of a grapefruit hop smell with some lighter notes of a pine hop coming along for the ride. Along with the hop are some slightly sweeter aromas of a tropical fruit nature of mango, tangerine, and papaya along with a bit of a caramel smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a lightly fruit sweetened and bready flavor with the fruit being predominantly of a tangerine and mango flavor. Right from the start a rather strong grapefruit hop is present with a little bit of a sour lemon there as well. As the taste advances the sweeter flavors fade more and more with the hop increasing quite a bit and being joined by a slight increase in a crackery flavor taking the place of the bready flavors. While the grapefruit does really grow more potent, with it comes some rather strong resinous pine hop flavors as well as some grassy and herbal hop. With the more crisp nature of the beer due to the loss of the sweet and biscuit moving to a drier cracker taste, one is left with a very resinously bitter flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side as well. For the massive resinous bitter flavors of the beer a slightly thinner body and higher carbonation may have been slightly more appropriate (at least for me) as they were a bit overwhelming and lead to an overly bitter and one-dimensional taste.
Overall – A little too bitter and resinous for my tastes as it lacked a
strong base to balance out the hop flavors. If you are a hop heavy for hop sake lover then this is for you and at only at ~ $5 for a bomber it is a nice affordable try.
