yespr (5521), Copenhagen O, Denmark Feb 12, 2008 75 cL bottle, thanks to MiP, came as Weyn’s mede hydromel. Pours dark brown with bobbly off-white head. Thick chocolate, alcohol, dark honey accent and spiced aroma. Sweet fruity and honey flavoured, slight woody and cane sugarish turn into a sweet and lingering finish. Ends with a light fruity and canesugarish finish. Lovely! Papsoe (9663), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 13, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of MiP. Pours a clear, dark, chestnut brown. Fat aroma of honey, dried fruit and port. Medium body, very complex aromas rum, port, dried- and overripe fruit - all the way with an underlying but never too dominating sweetness. Excellent. 230807 rauchbier (2858), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Jan 6, 2007 Bottle, from a shop in Antwerpen. Jet Black, no head or condition. Big sweet honeyed nose with obvious alcohol and herbal liquorice that becomes slightly tarry, honey sweet and fruity but quite soft in the mouth with a tart edge and quite apparent alcohol, long sticky sweet honeyed finish with some smokey burnt notes and retronasal alcohol
rickgordon (3004), Göteborg, Sweden Jun 7, 2005 Bottled. Big thanks to mip who brought this to Göteborg.
Chestnut colour. There are notes of tar, alcohol and cherry-wine. Old-ish mouthfeel with notes of(sour-sweet) cherries. Alcohol is not at all sensed in flavour. Body was thin to medium.

Dark brown, coca-cola colour, clear. Very aromatic, vinous & portlike aroma (like cask-drawn port), Brasil nuts & raisins. Very sweet taste, honey, very nice slightly sourish edge, touches of mint and lemon, vintage Marssala wine + grapes. Full bodied, slick, oily MF; long sweet aftertaste. Definitely a better, very complex one in the Weyn’s range. I wonder what this would reveal after some real lenghty oak-lagering. That might be very serious stuff.
