Cask@the avion, aldridge. Brown beer with small head and some lacing. Aroma of malts and a little caramel. Taste is toffee, tobacco and fruity malts. Ok beer.

Pours a ruby red with a cream coloured head. Fruity aroma and tobacco taste.

JDW, Southampton. Standing Order. A sweet and roasty best bitter. Chewy tobacco bitterness lingers a little too long and too assertively at the end. Becomes cloying and unpleasant after a promising start.

On cask at The Drum (JDW), Leyton. Pours ruby brown with an off white head. Crystal malt, smattering of hops. It’s OK.

(cask) slightly hazy amber-brown colour with a frothy light-beige head. aroma of caramel and green tea, with a hint of pear, some herbal hops and banoffee pie. flavour is mostly herbal hops and straw, slightly green, with a hint of solvent and some yeast in the earthy light-bitter finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber with white head. There certainly wasn’t a ruby hue to this, not sure what is happening between them and the pub. There was a boiled vegetable note, quite distinct, toffee, caramel sweetness, tastes like a poorish macro produced beer. Malty biscuit. Oh dear.

Gravity, Crown Summer Fest, Nuneaton, 08/06/13. Brass gold with a vanishing skim. Nose dandelion, berries, buttered Hovis cracker. That taste with a Butterkist finish; clove and red apple fruit, some yeasty spice. Not bad.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Banbury Beer Festival 10/05/13. A bronze brown rather than ruby coloured beer with no head. A sweet bitter. Old fashioned and tastes a bit like a mass marketed brew. A bit of creamy or vanilla sweetness. Has a decent body but not my type of flavours.
