Whalebone True Love Porter

Cask at the Glenrothes Beer Festival 08. Dark brown with a creamy beige head. Nose is dark fruity, malty. Mouth is burnt malt with some hop sourness. Some milk chocolate, touch of icecream. Juxtaposition of milky and sour doesn’t work well, but an ok beer.

Cask Stillage at the Victoria Leisure Centre, Nottingham 16/10/2003 Dark coloured with some sour fruit aroma and flavour. Lasting roast malt finish.

Cask conditioned - Oxford BF - gravity dispense. Some bitter fruit in the aroma of this black beer. It tastes a little sweet but also old. Should be better than this.

Cask Conditioned at Oxford Beer Festival 04. Dark black beer with little head. Dry powdery porter with a smokey burnt malt background. Overwhelming flavours which will be more appreciated by others but not to my taste.
