drismyhero (815), Tacoma, Washington, USA Feb 22, 2003 This batch was supposedly crafted specifically for the Rogue Hero in Bellingham, but until further evidence proves this I'm going to consider it as simply the brewery's general IPA. Very different. Rather dark amber color with very little head - and indeed there was hardly any carbonation to go with it. This was a bizarre IPA - very musky towards the beginning and never hoppy. Strong peat and lightly smoked flavors mask the hops almost entirely while towards the end of the glass the beer almost tastes like there was some Beligain yeast added just for fun. A mix of flavors that never really works out, although I do commend the adventerous nature the beer posesses.
