Golden and aromatic, with a touch of sweetness. This blend of Yarlington Mill, Major, Esopus Spitzenburg, Reine de Reinette, Dabinett, and Ashmead’s Kernel is fruity and earthy. This cider pairs well with a wide variety of foods.
Drink lightly chilled.

Light straw color, carbonation reminds me of a corked mead. Light, pour is not enthusiasm-building. Apple aroma with a hint of strawberry, light mold and melon notes. Very dry, abrasively so. Earthy and bitter to a fault, with pithy notes and underripe apple skin flavor. Finish is strangely gluey. Drinkability suffers here as the astringency builds with warmth. Much too much earthiness.

750mL Bottle, poured at CiderDays 2011. If austere is the new black of cider, than this is a little too Dieter for me. Dry, parching and very earthy. Again, the lack of carbonation leaves a little something to be desired in my opinion. I guess if you’re looking for a dry riesling stand in, this will do.
