2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled, Pasteurised. A brown amber beer with a thick creamy head. This is all in the malt, sweet and toffee like, a little over boiled and tinny. A pleasant warming alcohol glow, but is let down by the bottling process.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark brown with a thin tan head; aroma is predominantly malt; the taste is of malt with a little bitterness in the finish, but overall the taste is pretty ordinary - something you might expect from a grocery store beer

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
poured with a smallish tan head, dark red in color, clear. Aroma was nice: malty, sweet, with caramel, vanilla, and dark fruits notable. Flavor, however, left much to be desired. It was slightly malty, maybe a bit of caramel, but pretty one-dimensional. An alright brew, but nothing exceptional in my opinion.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
One of my favorite styles of beer. When poured, this beer had a medium sized tan head with fine-medium bubbles. There was carbonation observed and the body was dense. The hue was reddish brown and this beer left a fair amount of lacing on the sides of my glass. The nose was that of alcohol, malt and spices. The flavor was bitter, dry, mild and also alcohol. The mouthfeel was smooth and light-medium bodied. All in all, a very fine English Strong Ale in my opinion.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This brew poured a small head pf fine to medium sized off white mostly diminishing bubbles that left a weak lacing and a hazy dark brown colored body behind. The aroma is exquisite in its malt caramel goodness. The flavor is smooth initially then finishes in a dry mild hop spicey bitterness. THe flavor is a very nice yet thin malt hop caramel mix. All said, it was a fine addition to our buz for the evening! A very interesting brew it is.

Lucious tan head, great lacing. Beautiful, clear amber color. Spicey, malty nose. Medium body. Subtle chocolate and dark roasted grains. Finish is dry with a pleasent hop spiceyness. Nice brew!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Brown body with a quickly dissipating tan head.
Smells malty and butterscotch-like.
Hoppy, sweet with a metal note. DMS is obvious but acceptable for the style. Lingering bitterness. Weird balance and flavors.
Smooth but a little cloying body. Body is thin too.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured invitingly, dark brown and well-topped. There's a pleasantly warm, roasty nose. The flavor is initially sweet, and light-bodied, but finishes a bit acidic and mellow, not at all what the aroma would suggest. Turns out this is a lightly flavored, mellowly hopped beer, not the heavy warmer the look and smell would lead you to believe. Still good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hard to figure how this qualifies as English Strong Ale, as its 5% ABV, but o well. Aroma is pleasent with notes of currant and light hops. Beer pours nice thick off white head that is retained. There is some moderate lacing. Flavor is initially malty sweet and the finish is lightly hoppy/bitter and dry. Nice ale.
