COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised.
NOTE: Only the bottled version of this beer is brewed at Broughton. The cask version is brewed at Whim (which is under the same ownership). Ratings for the cask version should be entered there.
Ingredients: Pale, Crystal and Black Malts; Northdown hops.
Deep reddish amber in colour, with a thick creamy head and delightful hop aroma. On the palate, it is predominantly dry, though the malt character is evident in flavour and body, and it finishes with a long-lasting and pleasant hop bitterness.

Pours dark reddish brown with a mostly maintained wispy tan head. Aroma of earthy toffee and nuts, dust, sweet yeast, and candied plums. Taste is slightly sweet, malty, smokey, and dusty. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Absolutely remarkable ale, quite earthy and doughy.

Bottle 500ml from Party Town, KY. Poured hazy brown with an average off-white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Medium aroma of sweet malt. Medium body with a thin texture. Good flavor of sweet malt and medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable beer.

Nice brown 500mL bottle with hop leaves imprinted on it. Dark rusty brown color. Off white head. Aroma of whiskey. Suprisingly hoppy, although the rich malt overpowers the hop on the palate.

Old ale like, drying bitterness long finish, though juicy citrus. Unusual bitterness ESB to my palate because of the hops. Maltiness is definately secondary.
