3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle- Pours dark brown to ruby red, it has a nice pillowy head. lacework is good. Aroma is grainy with a nice caramel malt, not bad. The flavor is very mellow, no off notes, medium to low body, carbonation is average to high. There is chocolate in the taste, somewhat like a porter, maybe a really mild porter. Better than expected.

Draught at WaaZuBee Café, Vancouver
the tap handle says that it’s brewed by Whistler Brewing, not Bear
Dark brown color. Light aroma of roasted malts and puke. Soft mouthfeel, light dark caramel flavor, possibly some residual sweetness, and low bitterness. Simple and boring.

yikes, I’ll know to avoid this one in the future. Carbonated swill. The bottle is very nicely designed though!

Dark ruby/amber, foamy beige head fades. Aroma of caramel, toffee, cherry tartness, apple, unripe fruit. Taste also has lots of slightly tart fruit with caramel. Medium light body, soft carbonation.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from an Albertsons! Pours a very dark brown with a large foamy beige head. Aroma is rather nutty over smooth chocolate/burnt malt. Medium minus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is a little nutty, more chocolate. Not strong. But good. I could drink this frequently.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Checking in at 5%ABV this dark mild style ale pours faintly dark with absolutely no head, and minimal lacing. Aroma is of mild vanishing roast and slight band-aid. I find that the relatively high alcohol level for the style reduces the overall body and is detrimental to the drinking experience. Carbonation is appropriate. Slight interesting yeast character at the finish, hints of oak and a winey aftertaste. Some milds will yield a tobacco like note or toasted wood character, this one unfortunately is lacking in any unique characteristics making the impression overly thin and average.
