A mild ale with all the freshness of maple syrup – and a little bit of springtime spice for good measure. This dark bronze ale is made with real maple syrup added right to the mash. Then, a trace of chai tea is added during the filtration process. The result is a highly complex, mildly spiced palate structure. One taste, and a simple truth is clear: complexity can be a very beautiful thing.

Bottle. Shared at game night. Medium brown, with a bold spicy aroma and flavour, with doughy and nutty character, medium sweetness. Unfortunately quite thin.

Drinking from a 650 cl bottle. In the aroma dark liquorice, coffee beans, chocolate. The clear brown beer has a medium off-white head. In the taste chai, liquorice, cinnamon, maple syrup. High carbonated.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Medium-dark auburn brown with biege head. Aroma has a mix of spices and maple - a mild chai, some cardamom, almost a burdock and dandelion like spice. Flavour same with very mild nuttiness, dissipates quickly to a slightly watery finish.

Dark brown color, almost no head. Light aroma of maple and spices, a bit artificial like a donut. Dry mouthfeel, a bit of caramel flavor, maple, and light spices. The lack of sweetness doesn’t go well with the maple.
Not interesting, a bit weird.

Draft - Maple, vanilla and chai spices. Deep clear brown with a rich light brown head. Graham cracker, syrup, some clove and light cardamom. Weird for sure, but surprisingly balanced and not as bad as it should be. Tastes like a maple gingerbread cookie.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2015 This pours a nice dark colour with a latte coloured head. The aroma is strong of maple. The initial taste is exactly as the name suggests chai tea with a delightful maple syrup aftertaste. I wish I could find this in the UK

This one falls in that group of beers that I appreciate for being different, yet don’t really need to have again. It does have chai and faint maple notes but not much else going on.

Bottle. This beer lives up to its name exactly. It taste like chai tea and maple, but in a nice balanced malt body. It has a nice sweet aftertaste and is perfect for warming up. Sure you couldn’t drink a lot, but you can really enjoy one bottle a lot.

This bear is meant to pair with dessert if you ask me. Wonderful dark taste that is coffee like.

Visual: beautiful artwork on the label, lovely colour scheme. Pours dark cola brown with a sizable somewhat lasting creamy head, lots of barely visible fast activity. Nose: sweet maple syrup and chai (clove, cinnamon, coriander, ginger) on the nose - very inviting Attack: cream-fizzy, 5/10-sweetness Mid-palate: watery mouthfeel, cola/root beer, caramel malts Finish: bitter black tea, maple exhale, burnt roast bitter off-dry finish. Summary: A gimmicky try-one-time-only beer. It lacks finesse, real depth, body and balance to be a winner. Exciting on paper but falls short on delivery.
