COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the waters of Lost Lake, our Unfiltered India Pale Ale is refreshing and with a real bite. This Northwest style IPA is bold and hoppy with 75 IBU’s and 6.8% ABV. But this is a complex drop too, with fruity notes of grapefruit and passion fruit. For extra body and mouthfeel, Lost Lake IPA is naturally carbonated and unfiltered. Or, as we call it here at Lost Lake, au natural.

Floral and citrus hops in the nose with underlying caramel malt sweetness. Hazy amber-copper coloured body is topped by a decent, fine-bubbled, off-white head that lasts well and leaves some nice lace. Flavour is as the aroma suggests with a nice mix of grapefruit and floral hop flavours supported by bready (Munich?) and caramel malts. Moderate bitterness brings up the finish and lingers nicely. Really enjoyable medium-full body with very pleasant, soft-bubbled, fine effervescence. Half pint glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at the BCLS in April 2013.

Revo. Moderately fizzy, lightly cloying and a drying finish. Grassy, tropical things on the thicker side, soso caramel, this thing fades as it warms. Average bitterness, tiny amount of grapefruit. Easy drinker and the pre 6pm price of 6$ was adequate. 11% Mikkeller looms and will make this 10000% forgettable.

Very orange pour with an odd orange head almost the color of orange crush soda but a bit darker. The caramel malts overpower the citrus notes in this IPA which is a shame. Very noticeable hop bite without the lovely citrus flavours you’d want.

Poured from the tap. Orangey brown with off white head. Caramel malt and mild hops with a citrusy sweetness. As an IPA it could be a little hoppier, as a beer overall it’s quite enjoyable.

[5376-20130524] 650mL bottle. Toasted hops pine aroma. Clear, orange brown body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter pine resin hops flavour has a bit of a buttery finish. Medium body. Delicious and hoppy. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

Hazy amber-brown-mud sort of colour. Reasonably thick head. A bit of pine, marmalade but the hops are mostly unintelligible , muddled by the yeast and probably by their age as well. Bitterness seems nowhere near the 75 on the label. Malts are also a little unclear. Ok, but doesn’t really make a statement of any sort.

BC beers seem a bit hit and miss. This one is a hit. It is what is says on the bottle, unfiltered hoppy IPA. Well worth a try and will perhaps pleasantly surprise you versus some of the rest of the local brews. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Cloudy amber color with copper hue; medium sized head. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops; some toasted nuts and biscuits; mild but nice. Lean body; caramel flavor, more dry than sweet; strong bitterness, unfortunately with a harsh final, chicory-like.
A bit hard, not bad though.
