COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the waters of Lost Lake, our Unfiltered India Pale Ale is refreshing and with a real bite. This Northwest style IPA is bold and hoppy with 75 IBU’s and 6.8% ABV. But this is a complex drop too, with fruity notes of grapefruit and passion fruit. For extra body and mouthfeel, Lost Lake IPA is naturally carbonated and unfiltered. Or, as we call it here at Lost Lake, au natural.

Floral and citrus hops in the nose with underlying caramel malt sweetness. Hazy amber-copper coloured body is topped by a decent, fine-bubbled, off-white head that lasts well and leaves some nice lace. Flavour is as the aroma suggests with a nice mix of grapefruit and floral hop flavours supported by bready (Munich?) and caramel malts. Moderate bitterness brings up the finish and lingers nicely. Really enjoyable medium-full body with very pleasant, soft-bubbled, fine effervescence. Half pint glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at the BCLS in April 2013.

BC beers seem a bit hit and miss. This one is a hit. It is what is says on the bottle, unfiltered hoppy IPA. Well worth a try and will perhaps pleasantly surprise you versus some of the rest of the local brews. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Cloudy amber color with copper hue; medium sized head. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops; some toasted nuts and biscuits; mild but nice. Lean body; caramel flavor, more dry than sweet; strong bitterness, unfortunately with a harsh final, chicory-like.
A bit hard, not bad though.

Pleasant IPA. Golden-amber hue with a foamy, lasting head and sticky lace. Smooth and creamy texture. Clean zinginess of hops and bitterness. Nothing over-the-top. Light toast and nuts complemented by a light grassy flavor. Wonderful aromas of citrus and flowers eventually surface. At first, I wasn’t overly impressed with this IPA. But as I drink it more, it seems to get better.

65 cl bottle, Calgary, AB, Canada via Coop. Hazy amber gold, thick soapy head. Passionfruit aroma, some pine resin and honey. More fruit on the first sip, then a sharp hop bite and a funky resin finish.

Pours a hazy amber color with a small white ring. Aroma of resin, pine, sweet pale malts, caramel and some light fruity esters. Taste is pine, caramel, sweet malts, finishes dry but the bitterness and is a bit harsh. Slight imbalance but overall a nice drinkable ipa.

750 ml bottle, 6.8%. Clear dark amber pour with a froathy, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with hoppy overtones, toasted malt Taste is more of the same, dry hops and roast malts dominating the flavour, with a hint of sweetness. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Delicious.

Sampled at HOPoxia 2013. Hazy orange, fluffy white head. Mild aroma -- citrus (orange, peach), florals, caramel, light spiciness, dust and dirt. Sweet malt leading to mild, green, hoppy finish. Well-carbonated, less than medium-bodied. Mild, mid-range; not terribly daring but not bad.

Not a bad IPA with a mild floral and citrus frit hop. A hint of toffee and caramel malts too. Just not too interesting to be honest
