3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Originally rated July 2009. Came in a 6-pack at the LCBO and enjoyed the first four bottles at a jam. Was pretty decent, and now testing it in a glass. Pours a clean golden colour with lots of carbonation (bigger bubbles than average on the side and bottom of the glass). Big creamy-foam white head that stays a while and leaves beautiful lace. The malty nose is much stronger than normal swill beers, so that is a good start, with notes of bread. Crisp mouthfeel with a mix of sweet malt and biscuit malt (that is pretty tame), and has the hop showing up in the aftertaste. The flavour gets better as the brew warms up a bit. A much better lager than most mass-produced products, that is not offensive for drinkers of those beers.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
The bottle I had looks more like an I&G bottle than the one in the picture. A clear golden lager with a frothy white head that disappears at the first sign of air. Grainy is the order of the day in both the taste and the aroma. Nothing to write home about.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured a nice golden color with a big head that faded to some lacing. Aroma is a bit on the mild side with some citrus, malt sweetness and fresh grain. Taste is has a mild malt sweetness, bit of citrus and fresh grain. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body, smooth and refreshing. This is a much better beer that I expected. Enjoyable beer that goes down very easy.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Poured from a 330ml stubbie bought in Brisbane and BB 3/01/2013. Poured a clear yellow-gold colour with a two-finger sudsy/foamy head that collapsed fairly fast and left suds on sides of the glass. Not much aroma except faint yeast. Tasted bitter sour. Light body (bordering on watery). Long bitter sour finish.

1.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20
Chilled and into a straight wall. Pour is awkward; a soapy, sloppy lather of white sits atop a bright, orange tinged, medium gold body. No lace. Nose is of leavened white bread dough, heavily yeasty. Bready, doughy and similarly yeasty on the palate. A subtle hint of straw and fresh cracked grain can be perceived in desperation. Playdoh™ is all I got with the finish, it just did not come across as beer at all, seemed more like some sort of sorghum brew. Very soapy, lathers the tongue after just a few sips. Alas it was funked lager. Is it normally this bad? Not for EXPORT at all! (33cL, BB 06/07/12, Dan Murphy’s Currambine)
