COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’ve blended robust caramel and crystal malts to give the brew deep brown amber hues, for an almost warming appearance. But it’s the roasted chestnuts that impart a unique and bold nutty character, complemented by a light level of hops, for a clean but crisp finish.

Aroma of chestnuts, caramel and vanilla in this wry Christmassy beer. The appearance is average with a hazy brown look though there's a good head and great lacing. The taste is kinda absent. A bit of the caramel and chestnuts make it through but it is by no means marginal. Creamy ale with a bit happening. Nothing wow about it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to pint glass Nutmeg, chestnut, malt, maple, brown sugar aromas. Copper colour with a thin bubbly tan head. Taste is a little sweet and malty but I don't get much else. Mouthfeel is watery.

650ml brown bottle. Dark amber pour, clear. Small white head. Nose is quite sweet, lots of toffee/caramel. Taste is pretty straightforward with sweet brown sugar, caramel and toffee, syrupy. Some grassy notes at the end and some light bitterness. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Too sweet and artificial tasting. Tough to get through even half of the bomber.

Poured from a 650ml bottle into a pint glass. Deep amber body and a very thin slightly off-white head. A strong fake caramel/toffee flavor is abundant, like the stuff they squirt in your coffee at Starbucks. There’s a bit of nuttiness and roasted malts coming through. Taste is the same strong sweet fake caramel flavor with a quick, sort of watery finish. The mouthfeel is nice and creamy with good smooth carbonation. Overall I was disappointed to find it too sweet and very fake tasting. A bit of artificial flavoring would be ok but there’s too much of it to get past.

Pours dark reddish brown with a generous head. Chocolatey, nutty, and has a taste just as good as it smells. Very pleasant.

Bottle. This should be re-named Starbucks Toffee Nut Syrup Ale, as it is redolent in that fake extract/aldehyde kind of flavoring. The aroma is especially fake. The caramel malt body is more tame with respect to the fakeness, but too sweet and thin regardless. Not my thing. Boo.

Popped the cap; immediate smell of sweet chestnuts, chocolate. I like that in a beer. Into a tulip; pours a nice dark amber with half a finger of brownish-white head. Looks to be quite effervescent; plenty of activity in the beer itself. Aroma is superb; sweet and nutty, some chocolate that reminds me a bit of nutella, coffee on the back end. Flavour echoes the aroma, plenty of chestnut in there, coffee and chocolate take a back seat. Quite good, but there is a flaw; I get a metallic aftertaste on the finish that puts a damper on how enjoyable it is. Worth trying out, though.

650ml bottle pours amber in color with a 2 finger white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Caramel is huge on the nose with this brew with some nutty notes as well. Taste is a bold caramel malty sweetness with some nutty undertones and a mild hop bitterness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A really nice brew that is just right for the upcoming season. Quite tasty and easy to drink.

On tap at Hops in New Westminster. Poured in signature sleeve for measure and re-poured into a medium snifter for aroma. The color is beautiful; a dark reddish amber. A decent beige head, but not very long lasting. Sweet caramel on the nose. Caramel and vanilla on the tongue. Any hops or chestnut are overwhelmed by the caramel and vanilla. Okay for the fall season, but lacks complexity.
