COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Weve blended robust caramel and crystal malts to give the brew deep brown amber hues, for an almost warming appearance. But its the roasted chestnuts that impart a unique and bold nutty character, complemented by a light level of hops, for a clean but crisp finish.

This was surprisingly good. Dark red copper aroma. Distinct chestnut, vanilla, cereal, and cherry aroma. Taste is a nice sweet cherry with a touch of cocoa. Enjoyable.

I liked this. Chestnuts and caramel all over the place. Aromas of toffee, nuts, vanilla, and sweet malts. Flavors are sweet caramel covered nuts. Yum.

Pours a medium brown color with small head. Despite the lack of head aroma is plentiful and sweet with lots of caramel coming through. Taste is a nice malt with a hint of chestnut coming through along with some hard to place spices. Finishes hoppy. This is a great autumn beer.

Clear reddish amber. Aroma is caramel, chestnut. Light bodied. Quite sweet - almost sickly, with chestnut and toffee flavours. I consider this a novelty beer.

Lagerboy (1419) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 26, 2011
Deep clear copper with a foamy beige head which slowly disipates. Nose is caramel and toasty nutty malts. Lots of flavors here; caramel, some vanilla and coffee, toasted nuts, robust malt with some suttle underlying hoppiness. Softly carbed with a nice clean finish. Whistler Brewing is 2 for 2 with their session ales.

Pours a clear medium brown with a small tan head. Aroma of vanilla, nut, caramel and toffee. Taste is sweet vanilla mixed with chestnut and light butterscotch. Overall its balanced well but a bit too much artificial vanilla.

Bottle to pint glass Nutmeg, chestnut, malt, maple, brown sugar aromas. Copper colour with a thin bubbly tan head. Taste is a little sweet and malty but I don't get much else. Mouthfeel is watery.

Single bottle purchased at a Liqour Store in Squamish, BC on 10/22/2011. Colour: Medium-Dark Brown with medium white head. Nose: Huge doses of chocolate covered cherry. Fresh cedar planks. Melted Butter... faint coffee. Taste: Medium-light sweet, light bitter, light sour. A sweetness that comes on strong but quickly vanishes. Cherry and nuts - but thank goodness there is very little evidence of chestnut - because I tried roasted chestnuts at a Christmas market in Germany once, and they were the most putrid thing I have ever eaten. Interesting, if not quirky.

Aroma is sweet malts nuts and light sulphur. Taste is sweet basic malts, a well balanced nut presence that finishes smoothly with light bitterness. Appearance is a clear amber with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

On tap at Hops in New Westminster. Poured in signature sleeve for measure and re-poured into a medium snifter for aroma. The color is beautiful; a dark reddish amber. A decent beige head, but not very long lasting. Sweet caramel on the nose. Caramel and vanilla on the tongue. Any hops or chestnut are overwhelmed by the caramel and vanilla. Okay for the fall season, but lacks complexity.
