3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a medium copper / brown colour with a off white head. Aroma is super strong vanilla stands out the most for me then caramel and a hint of nuts. Taste is super super sweet and rich with a nice nuttiness. Good beer to keep warm wit on a cold fall day. I would suggest sharing a 650ml bottle as by the time i was finished i was a bit much

3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Popped the cap; immediate smell of sweet chestnuts, chocolate. I like that in a beer. Into a tulip; pours a nice dark amber with half a finger of brownish-white head. Looks to be quite effervescent; plenty of activity in the beer itself. Aroma is superb; sweet and nutty, some chocolate that reminds me a bit of nutella, coffee on the back end. Flavour echoes the aroma, plenty of chestnut in there, coffee and chocolate take a back seat. Quite good, but there is a flaw; I get a metallic aftertaste on the finish that puts a damper on how enjoyable it is.
Worth trying out, though.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
pours chestnut brown, 1inch head, medium carbonation, and some good lacing. Lots and lots and lots (and lots) of caramelized roasted chestnuts on the nose. Somewhat thin at the start, but it finishes acceptably nutty and somewhat clean. Not exactly complex or deep, but has a very unique flavour profile. This would be cool in a cocktail…

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle to pint glass
Nutmeg, chestnut, malt, maple, brown sugar aromas. Copper colour with a thin bubbly tan head. Taste is a little sweet and malty but I don't get much else. Mouthfeel is watery.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Hops in New Westminster. Poured in signature sleeve for measure and re-poured into a medium snifter for aroma. The color is beautiful; a dark reddish amber. A decent beige head, but not very long lasting. Sweet caramel on the nose. Caramel and vanilla on the tongue. Any hops or chestnut are overwhelmed by the caramel and vanilla. Okay for the fall season, but lacks complexity.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draught at Malone’s Urban Drinkery, Vancouver
Dark amber color, with thin head. Buttery hazelnut aroma. Ordinary amber, with walnut oil and, I presume, walnut artificial flavor; ordinary bitterness, some of it comes from the roasted malts. Not disgusting, but fake, like a muffin at Starbucks.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. This should be re-named Starbucks Toffee Nut Syrup Ale, as it is redolent in that fake extract/aldehyde kind of flavoring. The aroma is especially fake. The caramel malt body is more tame with respect to the fakeness, but too sweet and thin regardless. Not my thing. Boo.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured from a 650ml bottle into a pint glass. Deep amber body and a very thin slightly off-white head. A strong fake caramel/toffee flavor is abundant, like the stuff they squirt in your coffee at Starbucks. There’s a bit of nuttiness and roasted malts coming through. Taste is the same strong sweet fake caramel flavor with a quick, sort of watery finish. The mouthfeel is nice and creamy with good smooth carbonation.
Overall I was disappointed to find it too sweet and very fake tasting. A bit of artificial flavoring would be ok but there’s too much of it to get past.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
650ml brown bottle. Dark amber pour, clear. Small white head. Nose is quite sweet, lots of toffee/caramel. Taste is pretty straightforward with sweet brown sugar, caramel and toffee, syrupy. Some grassy notes at the end and some light bitterness. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Too sweet and artificial tasting. Tough to get through even half of the bomber.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Amber. Not much head. Big artificial chestnut and vanilla aroma. More fake stuff in the palate with a thin body. Just terrible stuff, like they dumped a bunch of syrup from that coffee shop into a crappy amber. That is no way to make a beer.
