DSG (835), Yuvalim, Israel Apr 1, 2008 (3/9/08) Bottle at De Heeren van Liedekercke in Denderleeuw. Best before 1/19/00. Brewed by Interbrew. Black color with a small light brown head. Great and really powerful aroma for such a small Stout – roasted malt and lots of chocolate. Great sweet roasty flavor with roasted malt, chocolate, some caramel and some coffee notes. A slightly drier finish. Medium to full-bodied. One of the best Stouts I’ve ever had. Note: now that I see how low it’s rated I really wonder if it’s the age that did this beer wonders or just me having a very unusual taste regarding this beer
Yves (402), Beerse, Belgium Jun 1, 2008 Dark coloured beer with small off white head. Malty sweet aroma. Sweet bit wattery palate. Finish is malty + bitter. cgarvieuk (2302), Edinburgh, Scotland Apr 8, 2008 Bottle at home... Ok the initial taste reminds me of the first beers i had as a kid and that not a recomendation... odd metalicness ... then it get a bit better ... rich malts some sweet chocolate ... some chocolate but all round disapointing. ekstedt (1785), Göteborg, Sweden Mar 4, 2008 Bottle (33 cl) at an unknown restaurant in Antwerp, Belgium. Black with a small beige head. Milk chocolate, burnt sugar, rasins and figs in the aroma. Light in body, low carbonation. Very sweet with some dryness in the finish. Not good. voota (754), Melbourne, Australia Jan 22, 2008 Black with a bubbly tan head. Aroma of vanilla, ground coffee, cocoa and some toffee sugar... pretty complex. Pretty light body, really lacks a bit of malt backing. comes across as pretty smokey with some stale coffee... nowhere near as good as the aroma. Somehow manages to finish sweet and cloying. Not great.
