Pasteurised and artificially carbonated bottle.

Note: May be brewed elsewhere now that AB InBev no longer owns Wellpark Brewery but it is impossible to know for sure - - unfortunately, AB InBev doesn’t seem to consider it important to provide consumers with full information on all their brands, or their provenance.

A classic Pale Ale this is a product of one of the UK’s oldest breweries. Whitbread Pale Ale is malty, almost sweet, with a moderate caramelly bready taste, but balanced with very moderate hops.
Whitbread Pale Ale is pleasant to drink and recommended for those who think they don’t like darker beers.
Whitbread Pale Ale goes great with food and even cheese!

Not too impressed by this "Pale Ale’. A rather boring beer I won’t purchase again.

Rated from old notes. Drank this one on a visit to London and was stunned because it was not the Whitbread I remembered. Only later did I confirm the American and English brews were completely different. Thin, watery, and textureless. Disappointing.

330ml bottle. Dark amber color. Small size, yellow head, stays. Metallic, minerals, corny, malty aroma. Grainy, faint hop pellets in taste. So watery and thin. Touch of salt in aftertaste.

Amazed to find this in a small grocer’s in an isolated corner of the West Islands while on holiday. Haven’t had it in over 20 years. Looks decent in the class. Fairly yellowy brown with lots of old school frothy head and beaucoup de clingy lacing. A malty toffeeness with a trace of metallic to taste. Bit tired. Not dynamic but not unpleasant either.Thin, little stuffing. A blast from the past and a reminder of how much bottle beer has improved here.

I’ve tried both the British and American versions and the American version is far better. This version is a cloudy reddish-gold with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, and floral hops. The flavour is mildly malty with a medium bitter finish.

Bottle @ random bar. I asked for the stout but I am pretty sure that this is what I got. Clear amber with a white head. Malty, pale, cheaper, more iron, odd lingering spices, almost mint and mineral bitter aftertaste, quite odd and off-putting, bitter and a touch of not the finest hops. Lighter bodied. Not too good.

Bottle @home. Nice amber color, small off-white head. Smell malts and caramel. Taste malts and lightly sweetish. Low bodied, low to medium carbo.

Some malt aroma. Amber coloured and toffee flavoured with a hint of fruit. A little dry in the finish.
