3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
[Bottle at Wenlock Arms, London] An amber beer with a small orange head. The nose is very hoppy while the flavor is dry hoppy and a little roasted. Nice without being something special.

In our room at Thistle Hotel, Aberdeen, Scotland 2005, the evening before going home. Amber with a nice head and lace. The aroma has notes of pipe tobacco and caramel, and the flavour has notes of smoke, malt and fruit (melon). Practically no bitterness. The smoke disturbs the experience.

Having exhausted all the cask options at the Wenlock, Sully produced a round of these. Thanks Sully, but this is pretty poor stuff. It’s a boys bitter in a bottle - gassy, tinny and without much flavour, or interest. I won’t be rushing to try this again. Bottled.
