A moderately hoppy English style pale ale contract brewed by Boston Beer Co. (at their Cincinnati plant, previously used by Hudepohl) for Interbrew.

FC Nordsjælland vs. Chelsea FC Champions League football night tasting in Odense, October 2012. Amber with a small white head. Malty aroma with bread crust and toffee, and a fruity touch of red apples. Sweetish malty flavour with a touch of fruit, and a slightly bitter finish

Originally reviewed: 6/10/09. This is the Whitbread brewed in OH, so it is technically not really Whitbread. Alas... Pours a deep partially-cloudy amber with a big billowy off-white head on top. Nice retention leaving some sticky lacing. Smells like banana bread, caramel, brown sugar, beans, and malty biscuits. The mouthfeel is disappointing. There is a decent amount of visible carbonation in this beer, but it does not transfer to any sort of bubbly mouth. This is very flat and wet feeling. Flavor is of bubblegum, honey, and finishes with a sort of dry chalky sweetness that is different. This is an interesting brew to say the least. Different smell, different taste. If they could fix the mouth on this, this may be more drinkable for me.

33cl bottle. Clear amber with a small white head. Nose : Caramel malts, little alcohol. Fruity aromas. Sip : A bit foamy body with small carbonation. Toasty malts overpowered but hop bitterness. Still moderate but definitely dominating hops. A could be a second glass beer. Nothing special though.

Bottle shared with Joes and DutchDrebus. Thanks Joes for sharing. Nice amber color, but not a good smell. Malt and caramel. Low to medium body, low to medium carbo.

Nice taste with a creamy feel throughout. Dark copper color, sweet caramel malty aroma, flavor is malts and caramel. Medium body with a hint of alcoholic bitter finish. This used to be one of my favorites.

Bottle. Pours an amber golden body with a white pillow head. Aromatically malty body with notes of caramel, cereal, light sweetness. Light earth tones, finish is flawed with a hint metallic and lightly bitter. If not for the metallic note would have been better.

Dark brown-amber, small whitish head. Aroma of caramel malt and really nothing else. Taste is watery caramel and a slight touch of hops. Thin. Like watery bass.

12 oz. bottle, $1.50 loose at HyVee, Storm Lake, IA. No expiry code. Twist-off cap. Poured in my Sam Adams glass, there’s a slightly cloudy brown beer under a thin head. Some sediment left in the bottle. This has gotten old, I think, probably why it sat in the loose rack. Oxidized, slightly phenolic smell that I can’t count against an undated bottle. At least that means there’s malt in here, and that’s plain with the taste. It’s malty sweet, but a bit medicinal. Hops have dwindled away. Hate to knock a beer for being past its prime, but I can’t rate based on what I think it would taste like. Clearly a chance for a nice, malty English beer that is, it seems, not easy to find where I am.

Moderately bitter, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sour finish that was unfortunately long. Avoid.

Dark hazy amber brown with a lacing beige head. Aroma of mild floral hops, fruit and toffee. Taste is a little too sweet. No bitterness whatsoever, just a fruity floral hoppiness. I know it’s not supposed to be very bitter but come on this is just weak. Medium body, medium carbonation.
