3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jaghana (2821) - Strasbourg (France), FRANCE - APR 11, 2013
Bottle 25cl, a clear copper beer with low head. Nose is on toasted malt with burnt caramel touch. Aroma is nutty and on light caramel, with grassy hops, metallic and bitter hops. burnt touch, not that complex, long bitter aftertaste.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Marko (3612) - Split, CROATIA - MAR 22, 2013
Definitely alive and kicking in Belgium. De Lantaarn, Leuven. Poured a dark amber body with a white head. Light malty nose, raisins. Maltiness is the dominant flavor in this one, slightly dry, dusty, some raisins. Simple, light hoppy bitter finish. Balanced and completely, utterly ordinary, as befits the brewery I guess.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Vaiz (2681) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAR 19, 2013
Fresh 25cl Belgian version, brewed at InBev. Bottle. Clear amber pour, thin white head. Aroma is slightly floral, chemical, spicy hops, a bit dusty and grainy. Flavor is simple bitterness, quite watery, a hint of fruity hops and a bit chemical. Quite rough for a macro ale.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Butters (3320) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - FEB 12, 2013
Hah! Found my rating from working back at woodys smokes and brews in tennessee. Old bottle that had been on the shelf a while. Clearish amber pour with fair offwhite head. A bit bready on the aroma. Slight nutty, lots of caramel/toast flavor. Slightly yeasty. Definitely english as it had no real discernable hop presence other than an ever so slight bitterness. meh.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Stevesie (202) - - JAN 7, 2013
Originally reviewed 6.6.08. Single bottled poured into a pint glass where nothing happened. Unremarkable appearance and nose. Virtually no head. Moderately bitter, the taste was sour milk garnished with a banana slice.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Shaney (1735) - Köln / Cologne, GERMANY - NOV 20, 2012
#530

25 cl. bottle purchased @ ALBO // according to the bottle brewed @ Inbev Belgium, according to RB and alias for this one which is both retired & brewed elsewhere, odd // anyway, Belgian version // clear amber with a creamy beige head // smells like caramel, metals & grass hops // taste is sweet caramel malts blended with pils malt / adjunct type of thing, dash metallic side to the caramel, fruity, peach, dash brown sugar, grass hops finish, weird metallic, caramel sweet overall // lightly sticky body & fizzy // weird Inbev thing, could have been okay, maybe they were trying, kind of hard to tell // quite odd
