COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This straw colored beer greets with an aroma of noble hops, pears and Belgian esters. The flavor follows nicely with a moderately spicy hop and Belgian yeast effect buoyed by a soft malt body. The finish is crisp and dry. We enjoy this beer with spicy foods, grilled steaks, grilled chicken and mandarin salad. Where you take it is only limited by your imagination.

Faint smell of malt, candy fruit. Sweet malty taste, not like many Belgian Ales I’ve had but it’s not bad. Goes down easily, quality food/session beer.

Pours a murky sienna color with a trace of bubbles. The nose is citrus a lil belgian candy and spicy yeast... the palate is a bit unfocused with two layers never really coming together... some fruity pear and grassy hops help it along the way but the mouthfeel is thin and the flavors stale.

Golden amber color. Small bubbly head. Nose is hops and fruit. Bitter finish. Good Belgium. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark orange. Aroma has a pleasing hit of sawdust. No Belgian aroma but a touch of citrus. That citrus extends to the taste where you get a minor hit of the Belgian notes. Bitterness is very low. This is the April 2012 Batch one bottle. Love that the bottle is labeled like that.

White grape and pear nose with apricot accents. Clear amber, medium head, good lacing. Dry, light funk, apple core and grape seeds, lemon zest. Really wanting in sweetness.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours cloudy golden with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, spicy yeast, and a decent amount of floral hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty good Belgian-style ale.

Bottle. Amber pour with a moderate, dense white head. Aroma is strong yeast, fruit notes, spicy hops and soft earthiness. Taste is big spicy and floral hops up front, and ripe fruit, powdery yeast, soft grains and toasted malt rounding it out. Body is light-medium and extremely carbonated and effervescent. Ends with more spicy hops, flowery notes, light grass, soft earthiness, dried fruit, toasted malt and powdery yeast.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2013 Bottled at the Top of the Hops Beer Festival, Charlottesville, Pours a hazy amber color with a thin frothy head. Good head retention. Sweet, syrupy aroma with honey, cinnamon, stone fruits. The taste is sweet pale malts, honey, spice, stone fruits and a faint vegetal notes. Medium bodied. 50th NH rating!

Belgian Beer Fest Boston. Hazy golden color, scant white edge head. Aroma is very boozy. Taste is similar.

New Beer Distributors, NY 650ml ($7.50): Pours a light amber/orange with way, way too much head and fizz (this beer done been in my fridge for a few days, so it ain’t been shaken up much). Aroma is fruity and slightly boozy. Taste is kind of lacking. There is an underlying dryness, but it doesn’t seem to have much to underlie. In a sense, this is almost tasteless. There is barely any sugar, barely any hops, and definitely no funk. I don’t know what White Birch is good at, but they should stick to that.
