Draught @ Galaxy Hut, Arlington, VA. Pours slughtly hazy amber with small white head. Clear aroma of hops and yeast. Sweetish flavour of fruit, malt and hops. Rather rough aftertatse. OK but nothing to write home about.

Very nice drinkable beer whatever that means. To me, all beers are drinkable. Anyway, this one starts with a small head over an amber body with a red tint. The aroma was malty sweet with a hint of the hop to come. The flavor was so very well balanced between the two, you could alternate between sweet and bitter. the finish was dry with a lingering after taste. Nicely done.

Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike! The beer has a mild haze and appears orange hued. The head is white and thin, fading rapidly. The aroma is odd, with fruit, funk, malt, and a generally odd scent. The flavor isn’t particularly enjoyable either. This beer is just a bit off. Low carbonation. Not a repeat. Pours a cloudy murky reddish brown with a one finger bubbly beige head that slowly recedes. Smells of caramel, brown sugar and biscuit with a hint of fruit and spice. Taste is rich and malty with lots of caramel sugar and dark fruits. Hints of pepper and spice round out the taste. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation, sweet almost sticky mouthfeel. I enjoyed this one. It really wasn’t what I was expecting, but it is a tasty beer.

From the 650 ml. bottle marked Fall 2013, no. 1434. It pours a cloudy medium amber with a quick head that fizzles. On the nose I get butter and caramel malts as well as a mild spiciness but little in the way of hops. Not off-putting. The body is medium. The taste is upfront sweet with many Belgian esters and a low to moderate bitterness at the end. But there is also something rather cardboard-like going on. Still, I found it to be relatively easy to drink and enjoy.

Weird amber/gold colour. No head. Aroma caramel malt. Earthy yeasty. Flavour is earthy fruity, vegetal . Light malty finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a deep dark amber colored body yielding a nice foamy very level off-white head that lasted for a good minute before gently dieing into the body. The body was too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising. Typical sediment of a saison at the bottom of my chalice. The smell had some dark fruits up front with the typical farmhouse yeast with the added hay and spices. The taste was dry with the same smells coming out and bringing in some plums and grains. The palate was about a medium with some sharpness on the tongue, sessionable. Overall, when I first had this I actually wasn’t really into saisons, but since this isn’t as bad some others I’ve had, I will say this, I’d have this one again.

A dark beautiful frothy amber brew. Nice fruit-nut aroma. Flavor is rich and nutty, almost smoky, but very smooth drinking. Not overly sweet. Very well balanced. Somewhat tart finish. I really like this one. By far the best White Birch brew I’ve tried yet!

Appearance: clear coppery red, with two fingers of near white head. Aroma: notes of caramel, toffee, rye, pepper, and a clearly Belgian strain of yeast that imparts a good does of barnyard funk. Taste: as the aroma indicates, almost exactly. Finish: full finish, but slightly muddled. Notes: This is better than average. The Belgiany yeast against pretty traditional amber/red ale flavors made for an interesting beer.

Brune aux reflets rougeâtres avec une fine mousse crème. Nez de miel. En bouche, des notes de caramel dominent sur un fond d’alcool. Un peu de fruits rouges surgissent en rappel.
