COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ardennes is a region of Europe known for it’s natural beauty, rugged mountains, hunting, hiking, cycling, and canoeing. We use yeast from this region to produce a red ale that has a beautiful balance of delicate fruit esters and subtle spicy notes. Great for whatever your adventures may bring. We hope you enjoy this unique beer.

Brune aux reflets rougeâtres avec une fine mousse crème. Nez de miel. En bouche, des notes de caramel dominent sur un fond d’alcool. Un peu de fruits rouges surgissent en rappel.

From a 2013 bottle. Pours murky opaque copper with a fizzy white head. Tastes like toasted malt, caramel, some raisin and grapefruit, yeast, light dry spice. Smells like roasted malt, yeast, light raisin, dry toast, and light dry spice.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 4/27/12, Batch 1, Bottled Jan 2012

Aroma: The nose has some sweet malts, caramel, bread, Belgian yeast, earth, and hints of fruit
Appearance: It pours a murky looking orange-brown color with a beige head, and minimal lace
Flavor: The taste mostly sweet, with similar components to the nose, and a latter earthy spice feel
Palate: The body is medium-plus, with a soft carbonation, some stickiness, and a fairly lengthy finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a decent one. It wasn’t exactly an extremely Belgian offering, but there were some clearly Belgian components. Thus far, this was my favorite thing I’ve tried from White Birch (but that isn’t a huge compliment).

Thanks djrn. Pours a hazy reddish amber with a one finger sandy tan head. Nose is acidic and lightly grainy, notes of cherry skin and cereal grain. Kind of slick... Grainy with a soy saucy character. Weird esters and acidity in there. Light bodied and slick on the finish. meeeehhhhhh

Tap; pours a cloudy copper with an off white head; faint aroma of caramel, yeast, and citrus; taste is sweet with caramel, yeast, citrus, and a little hops; finish is dry; decent beer that has a bit of a Belgian feel to it

From the 650 ml. bottle marked Fall 2013, no. 1434. It pours a cloudy medium amber with a quick head that fizzles. On the nose I get butter and caramel malts as well as a mild spiciness but little in the way of hops. Not off-putting. The body is medium. The taste is upfront sweet with many Belgian esters and a low to moderate bitterness at the end. But there is also something rather cardboard-like going on. Still, I found it to be relatively easy to drink and enjoy.

Appearance: clear coppery red, with two fingers of near white head. Aroma: notes of caramel, toffee, rye, pepper, and a clearly Belgian strain of yeast that imparts a good does of barnyard funk. Taste: as the aroma indicates, almost exactly. Finish: full finish, but slightly muddled. Notes: This is better than average. The Belgiany yeast against pretty traditional amber/red ale flavors made for an interesting beer.
