Heat, humidity, lazy dogs, the regrettable bathing suit. Welcome to summer, my friends; that yard isn’t going to mow itself. That’s why, when we brewed Hop To Wit, we brewed it for you: the lawn warrior, the Frisbee thrower, the backwoods trail hiker. An American twist on a classic summer style, this flavorful Belgian-style Witbier is packed with juicy hops for just the right kick. So go ahead, teach that lawn who’s boss. We’ll be right here waiting for you; we’ve got all day. We hope you enjoy this unique beer.

Reviewed from notes. I had two bombers of this and between the two, it was poured into a mug, a pint glass and a tulip. There basically wasn’t any changes in any piece of glassware. The appearance was a decent looking golden yellow to hazy orange color. There was some soft carbonation that was seen rising at a moderate pace. Once the one finger white foamy head died, there was an ample amount of some foamy lacing. The smell had some light lemony and orange notes over top of a decent sweet to spicy wheat. The taste was somewhat spicy and somewhat sweet. On the palate, this sat at/about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability running about it. The carbonation seems good for the style as its somewhat harsh but not overbearing. Overall, I say this was a good beer I’d be willing to have again.

22 oz. bottle. Light gold pour, with a small, thin, off-white head. The aroma is sweet citrusy, bubblegum, earthy and chalky notes, and some sharp pine and herbal hops. The flavor is malty and citrusy sweetness, with a relatively assertive hop profile. Light body, a little thin and watery, and astringent. Overall, this is a nice hoppy witbier, but the body is too abrasive, and it is lacking good yeasty esters. As it warms, the palate smooths out a little, and it grows on you. Worth a try.

Bottle from Brewtopia. Pours golden with an inch of white foam. Leaves a fair amount of lacing in the glass. Slight orange note on the nose. Taste is a bit more hop forward than you usually see in the style. Doesn’t feel balanced or well blended to me but still quaffable.

Poured from 22 oz. bottle. Virtually clear, with ever so light a haze, pale yellow with slight off-white head and good lacing that slides back down quickly. Pouring the remainder of the bottle revealed considerable fine sediment and made the beer very cloudy. Aroma of coriander, lemon and yeast. Taste of lemon, yeast, spice, coriander, wheat and caramel. Mildly bitter up front balanced nicely by a sweet finish. Medium body and low/medium carbonation.---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Crisp and Hazy golden coloured body with a dense white head. Aroma of coriander seed, curacao, lemons, hay, grass and a lot of deep spices - pungent. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive grassy and herbal flavours show well with a good spice bite soon afterwards giving way to a light but noticeable lemony sweetness. Aftertaste shows some deep spices, a bit of herbal malt notes and a very potent yeast strain. Overall, I see the wit part of the beer, but instead of hoppy notes, I’m getting a saisony and almost biere de garde flavour profile, which is nice as well! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Fairfax, Virginia on 03-November-2012 for US$5.49 sampled on the train down to New York (from Upstate) on 09-December-2012. Batch #Two

Bottle at the Top of the Hops Festival, Charlottesville, 9/22/12. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus, mango, honey and faint spice notes. The taste is pretty much the same with a bit of herbalness. Medium bodied.

Taste is spices, citrus notes, floral hops, big yeast notes, and toasted grains. Body is light-medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation. NIce baby food banana, peach, and orange nose. Cloudy amber, no head. Apricot and lemongrass flavor, rather dry. Finishes perfumey with floral lilly notes. No coriander anywhere. Very flavorful. Tons of character, little adherence to so-called style guidelines, moderately enjoyable.
