Cask at NWAF 2009. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and butter. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, butter, and bread, leading to a dry roasted finish, where a light butter note lingers. The body is light.

Cask - White Cliffs Festival 2010, Dover. A dark amber beer with an initially fine though disappearing white head. A light perfume overtone with woody, roasty notes beneath, caramel and touches of orange. Toasty & nutty on the palate, some caramel sweetness and a bready, biscuity malt character. Soft with a touch of fizz and quite light in body for an old I thought. Not bad, though.

Dover Beer Fest 2010. There are interesting vintage notes. some spice and some dark ginger and treacle cake with Oxford vintage marmalade. There’s a sense of age. This is a somber beer with a tobacco and aged leather bitterness. Finishes quite watery following the robust flavours. Attractive and interesting.

Bottle. Cloudy brown beer with a strong head. The aroma is gently bitter, and the flavour is bitter and yeasty. Overall an average beer.

Cloudy copper with a small white head. Weak and fruity malt aroma. Sweet malty flavour with grassy hops in the finish.

Cask @ National Winter Ales Festival 2009, Manchester. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with some nutty hints. Sweetish malty slightly roasted caramel flavor with some nutty hints and also some hints of hops. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish.

Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostlyd diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted, nutty, caramel notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090123]

Cask at cloisters Edinburgh ... nice copper ... thin lacing ... sweet creamy fruity nose .. dry hop .. dark fruits ... well rounded ... very fruity ... lovely balance.
