Svesse (1811), Hässelby, Sweden May 4, 2008 (Cask at Carpenter’s Arms, Marylebone, London, 26 April 2008) Chestnut colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of dried fruit. Malty, nutty taste, fairly dry, with biscuity malt and dusty hops in the finish. A decent, middle-of-the-roadish bitter.
harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 21, 2008 Cask gravity at SIBA BF, Paddock Wood. Chestnut, thin off white head. Toffee, butter aroma. Oh dear, first diacetyl beer of the day. Some malt, but too much butter. Mes_and_Sim (4476), Highgate, Greater London, England Sep 12, 2008 A Mes rate: cask at the Hop Farm festival. Dirty orange brown with no head. Buttery diacetyl and malt aroma. Bland as hell flavour with some off fruit, no balance and more diacetyl in the finish. Pretty awful to be honest. SilkTork (3941), Rochester, Kent, England May 7, 2006 TheGrandMaster (1490), Auckland, New Zealand Feb 13, 2006 Pint pulled at The Bell Inn in Rye (East Sussex), a very clear amber with a thin frothy head. Very strong roasted malt aroma with ripe cherries. Strong cherry and malt flavours again, smooth and easy on the palate.
