Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo)
Sweet, slightly gingery bitter aroma. Soft malty body, some bitter, gentle hopping. Very easy quaffer. Pleasant bitter finish. Just what you want from a 3.7% bitter - excellent sessioner.

Cask Conditioned at The Castle, Furnival St., London Hazy golden color; thin creamy head. Nice grassy hop aroma. Despite the low alcohol, it has a correct mouthfeel, with caramel and cereals flavor; strong bitterness. Good.

Bottle, 4.1% Dead bronze pour like squash. Nosing digs up a surprising tang of hop, rusty mandarin tin, lime sharpness, sticky resins. Dead, but not in a bad way. Pleasant orangey tang softening into lingering bready vanilla malts, peanut. Really creamy monkey nut afters. Little bit earthy. Quite enjoyed it.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 HarryFlashman (469) - Chatham, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 2, 2008
Has the fruitiness of the Wayland Smithy, but a lot more hops and malt. I quite liked this.

A Mes rate: Cask at the St. Aldates Tavern, Oxford during the RB pub crawl. Nice and clean golden brown colour with a thin bubbly white head. Decent hops front aroma with delicate hints of ginger. Flavour has a really good malt and hop balance that goes all the way to the finish eventually settling on bitter hops. Lots of character, plenty of flavour. Good stuff.

Cask conditioned - handpump - St Aldates Tavern Oxford. A golden beer with a small amount of white head but some good lacing showing what good condition it was in. The aroma was nicely hoppy with some grapefruit notes. More good fresh hops to the flavour and then a little nuttiness crept in. A nice start to a good day’s drinking.

Cask in statebar. Aroma is balanced biscuity malts with orange and grassy notes. Taste is similar, light body, perfect for sessioning, though perhaps a bit more hop as i can taste exactly what the beers is made with, if that makes sence.
