Cask, The Highcross, Leicester. Copper, red with a cream foam. Aromas are chocolate, raisins and cola with burnt toffee. Plummy with medicinal notes and spices. Flavours are sweet raisins and toasted malts with dark toffee. Herbal with a mixed spice finish. A nice malty brew.

Cask at Knights Templar Spoons. Pretty decent ESB. Datk in colour good malts good spicy peppery hoppy finish. I would be happy with this as a beer. Does it all well. Served too cold but very decent

Cask @ JDW, Victoria Station. The pour’s deep amber brown with a tiny off-white head. The nose is roasted grain, chocolate malts, some coffee. The taste is sweet coffee creamer, some butter, more chocolate and roasted wood. Toffee, mild berry on the finish. The body’s a bit thin and watery. Overall, fairly decent.

Ascot Beer Festival 2012. Pours a dark brown colour with a white head, plenty of fruit and malt in the aroma, taste is bitter and malty with a dry bitter finish.

Cask conditioned at Oxford Beer Fest ’12. Chestnut with cream head. Fruity, malty beer with a dryish toffee character, some nuttiness, some plum pudding. Fairly decent.
