Commercial Description:
Cask Regular. - The power of the blacksmith is legendary so this beer combines the best ingredients money can buy and the skills of the traditional brewer to create a hammering good beer. Deep red like the fire at its heart and balanced with buckets of aromatic hops its enough to give other brewers the hump.

Had this at the White Horse Tavern at Oxford. Half pint since it was the morning and my stomach wasn’t too happy with me. Pour is a golden brown with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate (?) and hay. Taste is floral hops, chocolate, hay, and earth followed up by hay and a medium roast coffee. Hand drawn and creamy palate. This was one of the better bitters I’ve had overseas for sure! A nice surprise from a hole in the wall tavern!

Cask at Royal Blenheim Oxford. Pours a dark amber colour with a thin white head. The aroma is all fruit, with plenty of malt. The flavour is malty with more than a hint of caramel, the beer finishes on a dry note.

Cask at Angleterre, Helsinki. Slightly hazy dark amber color with creamy head. Sweet fruity aroma with raspberry. Bittersweet, caramelly, nutty, toffeish, biscuity and fruity flavor with apple, orange marmelade and raspberry. The palate is slightly woody, tannic and cidery but not in a bad way. Very original, nice balance between toffee, caramel, wood and fruit.

Cask@Pullman, Helsinki. Hazy nutbrown/amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is very much fruits along with some slight grassyness. Flavour is sweet wooden and fruity hoppy. Aftertaste goes into some sweetness mixed with wood and some rather grassy bitterness. Dry palate and semibitter brew.

Hoppy aroma. Alas, it’s sour in the mouth. Harsh. Sour. Nope. Should rerate, as the aroma had promise. Unusually, not shared by Anna.

Dark red-brown colored with hazy appearance. Little yellow head. Grassy-herbal aroma with lemon also present. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor starts akso with same perfumy-herbal tone dominating, aftertaste turns to hopped and yesty. Good rale.
