COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
WLP004 Irish Ale Yeast
This is the yeast from one of the oldest stout producing breweries in the world. It produces a slight hint of diacetyl, balanced by a light fruitiness and slight dry crispness. Great for Irish ales, stouts, porters, browns, reds and a very interesting pale ale.

Bitterness and gravity vary batch to batch.

brokensail (11085) - Orange County, California, USA - MAR 4, 2013
Hazy orange pour with a white head. Grassy aroma with quite a bit of green apple. A bit of rubber and some solvent notes. Sweet bread, toast, and mild pine. The flavor is quite bitter and full of the same flaws as the aroma. Green apple and rubber notes, lots of grass, mild citrus, and some sweet malt.

BMan1113VR (7867) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 26, 2012
On tap at the tasting room when they first opened. Significantly hazier than the other beers in the flight. This causes the beer to appear slightly lighter in hue, yellow, lasting white head. Aromas are of bready malts, light esters, pine, lightly earthy, malty, only a hint of fruit. Flavors are of pear, esters, marmalade, much lighter bitterness than some of the others, grassy, fruity. Bitterness is mild and doesn’t linger. Medium dry, biscuity, lemon zest, bready. Lively carbonation. Nice flavors.
