Bottle: Served in a Duvel glass: Small creamy vanilla colored foamy head/lacing on top of a haY brown colored beer. Aromas of leaves, barley malts, raisin, some nuts, some cognac, light liquor and rye. Very nice aroma! Flavours of raisin, prunes, cream, barley malts, spice, warmth, herbs, light creamy toast, some rye, some light vinous notes, sticky, very nice stuff! Aftertaste is warm, light spice, barley malts, some raisin and prunes and a hint of dried leaves. Low carbo, creamy silky mouthfeel, full bodied and a creamy light oily soicy texture. Nice stuff, well done with the alcohol, tasty!

Clear dark amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is softish and airy, mild fine carbonation. Smooth malts, some sweet cream. Nice mellow brandy tone blends well with a cherry streak. Little aniseed spice. Finishes semi dry and airy with a warming afterglow. Tasty and quaffable and hides most of it’s abv well.

Benzai (8107) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JUN 26, 2014
Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. Opaque dark brown color, medium sized beige to brownish colored head. Smell and taste malts, overripe fruits, quite alcoholic, raisins. Medium body, a bit lively carbonation. Off balance imo, kind of a bad mix between a quadruple and a Belgian Strong Ale.

Bottle @ benzai. Hazy amber to ruby with a small to medium sized off-white head. Smells malts, herbs, yeast, dusty, weird. Tastes raisins, very sweet, malts. Medium body, soft to medium carbo.

Bottled from BierGenot.be, large sample, poured into a trappist glass. Hazy dark brown color, short frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, raisin, hint of chocolate, hint of roast, high alcohol, spicy yeast, bit peppery, hint of orange. Quite sweet in taste, biscuity, quite alcoholic as well, some spicy bitterness. A bit unbalanced, but very flavorful. A bit too alcoholic for me. Sirupy body, medium carbonation.

Dark brown. Smells like ten different cakes. Bourbon vanilla, dark malts, caramel, dried fruits, biscuits. Full body. Syrupy. Very sweet stout with reminds of Gaverhopke den12
