Bottled@PBF VIII. Amber colour, small head. Aroma and flavour is dominated sugar, some liquorice and some salted liquorice. Flavour is very much the same. Not that interesting. For a Belgian strong quite nice and spiced.

Bottled at PBF. Cloudy copper colour, small head. Woody nose woith prunes, wood and tobacco. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly with notes of red wine and low bitterness. Full flavoured, but superficial.

330ml bottle @ PBF 2013

Pours dark reddish brown. Aroma of sweet syrupy malts, spices, caramel and wood. Taste is sugary sweet, malty, caramely and spicy with hints of wood and vanilla. Finish is sticky sweet, malty and caramely. Not very balanced.

lusikka (6239) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 23, 2013
330 ml bottle @ PBF 2013.
Pours a dark cloudy amber brown colour without a head. Aroma is very sweet with lingonberries, caramel and some rubber. Flavour of strong sweet sugar, sweet caramel, messy yeastiness, pea soup, alcohol, plastic and some hay. Medium bodied, thin mouthfeel and a long, burning, rubber, alcohol finish. Low carbonation. Horrible balance with off-flavours, which is unacceptable especially for this style.

18/VII/13 - 75cl bottle from De Hopduvel @ John’s place - BB: IV/17 (2013-654)

Clear red brown beer, small aery beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of chocolate, weird spices, celery salt, mocha, cocoa powder. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: nice chocolaty start, caramel, bit sweet, but then overripe fruits and rotten vegetables. Is it a bad quality of malts, or yeast giving this dirty taste? It’s also often in (cheap) brown Wallonian beers... Atertaste: overripe fruits, banana, caramel, something seriously off, bit spicy, sugary and dried fruits. Nope, didn’t like it and neither did anyone else at the table...

Bouteille 33cl, BB 12/2017, beer appears overly inflated by fake reviews. Light gusher.

Slighlty hazy reddish amber colour, white head. Aroma of caramel, malts, red berries, raisins, quite fruity. Sweet malty flavour, raisins, red fruits and dates. Finish chocolate, malts, red fruits and dates. Finish chocolate, malts, prunes and raisins.

Bottle @ ZZT8:BBT1. Hazy copper with a medium white head that doesn’t last. Smells herbs, malts, sweet, nuts.. Typical Belgian strong ale smell. Tastes sweet, raisins, alcohol.. Too sweet for me. Full body, soft carbo.
