Strong complex malty character balanced by noble hops, with a soft roasted touch. So drinkable!

0.33L bottle. Pours black with a small brown head. Potent aroma profile, with lots of coffee / roasted malt, vinous, berries, some cooked vegetable. Medium sweet flavor at beginning. Some of the berry flavors come through in the middle, then it transitions to dry, roasted malt bitterness, with lingering coffee and alcohol flavors. Full body with a sticky mouthfeel and mild carbonation, and cloying sugars. Overall, a very tasty beer. Aromas are great, and the flavor, though not omplex, hits the right notes for a porter.

Bottle at Cafe Frape Maastricht. Black body with small tan head. Merges notes typically found in London Porters with icy Belgian yeast and ample quantities of warming alcohol. Taste is a tad harsh upfront but quickly mellows to reveal depth an complexity. Strong chocolate and coffee, noticeable hops.

Bottle. Dark black-brown pour with tan foam. Aroma is really chocolaty, light roastiness, tons of cocoa. Taste is sweet, nice and chocolaty, good caramel flavors as well, very light roasty finish, booze is also really well hidden. Palate is relatively "light", dry slightly fizzy carbonation. A bit thin I think, but nice taste.

Bottled from Bier Genot, BB Oct 2017, large sample, served in a snifter. Pours a dark brown colored beer with a meduim almost creamy brown head leaving thick creamy lacing. Aroma of quites some coffee (although there seems to be no coffee in), some roast, bit licorice, slight spicy, some caramel, biscuit. Quite bitter in taste, some from the hops, but mainly from the malts, coffee again, hint of cookie sweetness. Slight creamy texture. Finishes with a bit of the candy sweetness that can be found in belgian styled beers. Slight dry palate, together with grassy bitterness. After a couple of their mediocre brews, I wasnt expecting a lot from this White Pony, but this one is truly wonderful. Horrible labels btw.

Bottle shared. Pours near black with a small beige head. Aroma of big roast, coffee, overripe dark fruits, raisins, caramel and booze. Flavour is over moderate sweet and bitter. Light full bodied with light carbonation.
