Imperial porter brewed with english and belgian malts, belgian speciality yeast and english hops.
Strong complex malty character balanced by noble hops, with a soft roasted touch. So drinkable!

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel, Belgium. The beer is black colored with a beige head, which is small and stable. Carbonation is good. The aroma is roasted malts, hops, caramel and a bitterness of cacao and chocolate. The taste is sweet and malty with caramel and vanilla notes and changes into roasted notes and coffee with a nice bitterness. The finish is dry, light bitter and roasted with some coffee and cacao notes.

Bottle at PIB 2016, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, light vanilla and cocoa. Flavour is dry and robust, with lots of roasted malt, dry cocoa and light earthiness. Balanced well, with a dry body and finish. Robust and well-made.

Bottle. Jet black and thick, full malt opaque. The mouth feel is near perfect. It doesn’t have the heavyness or stickiness of the mighty over 10%ers. Balance is the word I’m groping for. Terrible lable, lovely beer. In my opinion, the first beer brewed on Belgian soil which reaches the new international standards. Struise excepted of course.
