3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Deep dark clear amber with dissipating head. Little aroma - perhaps a little English hop spiciness. Light toffees, burnt toast, roast malt taste but the thin and highly attenuated mouthfeel, and surprisingly high carbonation for the style, throws. Quick bitterness finishes. Not exactly sure what they’re aiming for here; the thin mouth feel prevents it from fulfilling the role of mid-winter comfort beer but the the deeper malt profile disqualifies from being some sort of refreshing American Amber Ale. Frankensteiny, but enjoyable.

Pours black with an amber tinge. Tan head that holds moderately. Earthy aroma with toffee sweetness. Lowish carbonation that brings out the malt character further. Light bodied. Taste is malt driven with charred malt, caramel sweetness and a slight nutty finish. A trusted choice to go back to

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Caramel chocolate aroma. Reddish brown appearance with no head to speak of. Medium sweetness on the nose with a lightly bitter aftertaste that lingers on the roof of the mouth. Light to medium body - not what I was expecting for a dark ale. Overall pleasant but nothing outstanding.

Purchased from Liquorland, Diamond Creek, Victoria. Has an earthy, caramel, aroma. No head to speak of, a clear dark brown colour, tasting heavy on the tongue with very little carbonation. Will drink this again. Will have to as I bought a slab!

Bottle. I grabbed a bottle of this in Cairns while on a 24 hour layover. It was decent but no worth the price of a single. Malty and slightly roasted with well balanced hopping. Better than some of the other stuff i got up north.

Chestnut brown. Thin head. Light and vaguely caramelly nose. Light, sligthly fruity, toffeeish flavour. Light body. Ok brown-ish ale but the word "light" comes up way too much.
