Mouth filling malt characters and a beautiful fruit driven complexity derived from the open fermenters, mix this with a reassuring bitterness from some aromatic hops and we reckon the result is a delightfully scrumptious ale!

Purchased from Liquorland, Diamond Creek, Victoria. Has an earthy, caramel, aroma. No head to speak of, a clear dark brown colour, tasting heavy on the tongue with very little carbonation. Will drink this again. Will have to as I bought a slab!

Bottle. I grabbed a bottle of this in Cairns while on a 24 hour layover. It was decent but no worth the price of a single. Malty and slightly roasted with well balanced hopping. Better than some of the other stuff i got up north.

Chestnut brown. Thin head. Light and vaguely caramelly nose. Light, sligthly fruity, toffeeish flavour. Light body. Ok brown-ish ale but the word "light" comes up way too much.

Pours a very dark brown colour with a good white head. Faint aroma of caramel, light chocolate, wood and light touches of licorice. Flavour is wood, toffee and some roastyness. The roastyness sits quite long together with some pepper in the finish. A bit watery, but this one is only 4,9 % abv. Overall, I could have this one again.

On tap at the brewery malty aroma dark brown in colour nice malty taste but I had some of the trail brews when they first set up the brewery and this is a disappointment as compared to some of them

Bottle at The York Tap, York, England (£5.50, 330ml):
Hoppy with a darker caramel aroma and some sweet malts and toffee. There is some sugar and a few lighter fruits lingering in the background. This one definitely seems more American brown ale than English brown ale, on the nose at least.
Dark brown to chestnut with a few red tinges throughout and a really thin foamy head on top that is tan coloured and holds fairly well.
Caramel malts and again more hops than I expected with some sugary sweetness and some orange with a hint of apricot and peach lingering in the background and touches of bitterness too.
Medium bodied & hoppy with strong carbonation and a semi-bitter feel to it. Very smooth and with touches of sweetness that all balanced out quite well.

Quite a nice beer all round with a good hop character & great balance with a very smooth mouthfeel. I found this one incredibly easy to drink and got through it in no time at all.
