COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mouth filling malt characters and a beautiful fruit driven complexity derived from the open fermenters, mix this with a reassuring bitterness from some aromatic hops and we reckon the result is a delightfully scrumptious ale!

From a bottle at a burger joint in Melbourne. Pours an attractive dark orange brown with a few centimeters of head that soon melts away. Has a slightly sweet, toasty bread aroma with a well balanced bitterness, medium body and average carbonation. I could drink more of this.

Keg - Poured a mahogany brown with slight red hues and a lasting, creamy off-white one-finger head atop. Nutty, toffee malts with some dark fruit tang and a dark choccy, coffeeish bitterness. Light to medium body, medium carbonation with a medium intensity, moderate length bitterness in the finish.

This was the first dark ale I ever tried and so I have a soft spot for it but have gone on to enjoy other beers more. It has a pleasant aroma of roasted malts and caramel when you first open the bottle, however it has little aroma in the glass. It pours a dark orange/brown with a medium tan head that fades, with some lacing in the glass. It has a rather thin feel as you drink and a simple but very pleasant taste of roasted malts. My overall score may be a little biased.

Pretty subdued for a dark ale, smooth and easy to drink, pretty high carbonation without much head retention, not bad, prefer a bit more oommf, tho admittedly haven’t yet gained a taste for stout or the burnt characteristics and in this one it is a bit subdued for better or worse. A little fruit in the aroma, lets say guava and pomegranate.

Cola brown with small head. Minimal aroma - some dark fruits, toast and honey. The taste is roasted malts, honey, with some nuttiness in the finish. Too thin, seems watered down. Not too bad though.

Deep brick red with a thin tan head. Nutty and toasted malt with a bit of fruit. Medium to full bodied. Flavor has a nice toasted biscuit profile with light nut and a bit of caramelized sugar. Solid ale.

Bottle. Deep dark clear amber with dissipating head. Little aroma - perhaps a little English hop spiciness. Light toffees, burnt toast, roast malt taste but the thin and highly attenuated mouthfeel, and surprisingly high carbonation for the style, throws. Quick bitterness finishes. Not exactly sure what they’re aiming for here; the thin mouth feel prevents it from fulfilling the role of mid-winter comfort beer but the the deeper malt profile disqualifies from being some sort of refreshing American Amber Ale. Frankensteiny, but enjoyable.
