COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
ur Tavern Creek Tripel beer is brewed in the classic style of Belgian Tripels, boasting a distinct German pilsner malt and Belgian Biscuit malt. Appealing to the complex palate, Tavern Creek is bittered with German Perle hops and finished with English Kent Golding. Tavern Creek has a remarkably long and smooth finish, expressing a very full character with spicy fruitiness and a dry-tart finish, making it a great sipping beer.

Pours clear bronze with scant white head. Doughy, heavy Belgian yeast nose. Taste couples aroma. Subtle sweetness with hits of spice, pepper, and stone fruit. Medium bodied, nearly flat. Smooth. Good brew, true to style.

[Bottle] Pours golden brown with a pillow-like head. Sweet and yeasty nose. Candi sugar, cotton candy and hints of clove in the aroma. Taste is of sweet biscuits, tart apples, mild citrus and slightly soured grains. Decent mouthfeel. Balance could be slight better.

Tap - average size foamy head, medium straw color, moderately spicy aroma and flavor, mild fruity esters, some bubblegum notes - overall OK I guess but was expecting better for this style ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden pour with a very minimal head and lacing that disappears quickly. Aroma is somewhat faint, but there is a good mix of yeast, candi sugar, cloves, and banana. Flavor follows suit with a little of the sour astringency typical of the style. Some bitterness also. Overall, though, this is actually a very smooth and surprisingly mellow example of a tripel. The alcohol is extremely well-hidden. You can practically session this - it’s almost refreshing. Not bad at all - holds up well to many others in the style. Springfield has Mother’s, and now White River. Looking forward to trying more from this new micro.

Sampled at 4 Hands. A honey gold pour with minimal head. A light aroma of grain, dust, and light fruit. Alcohol is tasted early and makes this akin to a high gravity. Light flavors of fruit, yeast, grain, and pale malts. Not exciting.

Wonderful aroma of sweet candi, apricots, and clove. Taste is a mix of banana, candi sugar, and some tropical fruit. The carbonation is high making it very champagne like in taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Purchased a bottle at Brown Derby in Springfield. It poured a brown color with a small beige head. The aroma was moderately sweet, orange peel, some coriander and light candied sugar. The taste was of moderately sweet, orange, wheat, light clove and some banana. Very good.

When served from the tap, this beer’s clear orange color looks beautiful in combination with its large white head, but the aroma falls flat with just hints of yeast and wheat without much complexity. Once sipped, this beer is quite sweet and slightly sour, which isn’t as much balance as I expect in a tripel, and the palate combines an abrupt finish, medium body, slick texture, and an average carbonation, which did make the beer at least pleasant to the mouth if not quite the tongue and its taste buds. Overall, this beer did some things right but other things just couldn’t be saved.
