CaptainCougar (4663), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 12, 2007 Bottle sampled on 8/5/06: Mostly still, viscous dark copper appearance has a thin, wispy-lacing coating of off-white head. Has a nice, complex sweet aged malt and dark honey aroma with some dark fruity notes. Starts with a sweet complex dark caramel and oaky fruity body with some warming alcohol toward the finish. A very enjoyable, complex mead. hopdog (4645), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 2, 2006 Bottle acquired in trade with The_Enemy (thanks!). Poured a deep amber color with a small sized off white head. Some larger particles. Aromas of honey, oak, and some dark fruits. Tastes of stronger honey and oak. I didn’t get the Oxidization that Eric did (I think he planted it in Tom’s brain). Eric’s new name is Mr. Oxidization... acrdz (4362), Boulder, Colorado, USA Sep 13, 2007 Sampled from a 12oz bottle shared by kramer17801. BIg time yeast in the nose, with a heavy dose of brown sugar, honey, some heavy roast, and toasted grains. Carbonation is heavy, making the body frothy up front and more coarse and rough in back. Some interesting plum and date flavors as well. Very weird, but very good. Cornfield (4331), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Mar 2, 2007 Interesting drink. It pours a clear, deep brownish amber with a creamt light tan head. Kind of smells like a fruit liquer, sweet with honey and dark fruits, woody with a touch of ash. The flavor is dark pulpy fruits blended with honey and oak. Not bad. Odd, but with "only" a 10% ABV, it seems to warm almost instantly. Gendler’s Wine and Spirits, Moline, IL
