Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’ place. Thanks a lot Tom L.Clear brown with white film. Sweet and nutty aroma, a little chocolate as well. Nutty taste, slightly bitter and toasty, then sweet. Lightish body, chocolate and nutty finish. Nothing new but tasty and balanced.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Clear brown with a beige head. Aroma of malt, toast, nutty notes, a bit of caramel, a bit of fruitiness. Sweetish flavor with malt, toast, caramel, some nuts, a chocolate hint and a drier finish, slightly bitterish. Medium-bodied. OK. Not really a Porter.

Color rojizo, un dedo de espuma. Aroma neutro, ligeramente frutal a cereza. Carbonatacion justa y cuerpo moderado. Sabrosa en boca, bastante lupulada, con rica malta tostada y con un final bien amargo.

Bottle. Ruby colour like porter. , caramel, bread, woody flavour with creamy head. Good strength. Can easily see why in top 50 in 2007.

Bottle at home in northern Ireland. Chestnut brown copper coloured pour with a lasting loose cream coloured head. Aroma is twiggy, earthy, caramel, little mushroom. A little dried apple and raisin on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of nutty, twiggy malts, dried fruit, little alcohol bite. Little bitterness in the finish. Palate is medium sweet, moderate carbonation.

500ml bottle. Dark, ruby ale with light head that faded quickly. Toffee nose. Malt taste with bitter toffee aftertaste. Would go well with crisps or nuts.

Ruby red with a quite large tan head. Aroma is malty with toffee and bread notes, some earthy and floral notes, faint notes of dark fruits and red berries. Taste is medium sweet toffee and berries, light nutty with coffee notes and light bitter. Finish is light to medium bitter. Medium bodied, average to fizzy carbonation.

Cunningham (5441) - Halden, NORWAY - NOV 7, 2014
Hazy amber color with a big tan head. Good looking ale. Nice lacing. Bready, malty and fruity aroma. Nice body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Maybe a bit rich carbonation. Oily texture. Bready, malty, fruity, plums and raisins in the flavor. When I rate this one, it is listed as a porter….hmmm more like a low alcohol Barley Wine. Tasty ale.
