fairly sure this beer description is for something else! Perfectly decent mid chestnut bitter with breast malt, caramel and dry bitterness in finish, no spice here!

Bottle at my parents, from Tesco Eire - thanks to the old man, 25/01/13. Clear copper with an off white/beige head that retains well. Nose is dark malt, berry fruit, raisens, spice. Taste comprises dark malts, biscuit, toffee, spice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation perhaps a little over so, dry finish. Ok drinkable stuff but pretty whelming!

Bottle (500ml from Tesco):
Malty with some caramel and spice in there too. There is some biscuit and a few bitter notes but nothing too special of exciting.
Copper with a foamy white head on top a couple of millimetres thick. This settles as a creamy looking lacing after a few moments.
Bread, a few malts and a bit of spice along with some plain, slightly sweet amlts. There is a lot of bitterness though and a rather plain flavour overall but I could detect a sort of slight herbal taste in the background.
Dryr with some spice and a medium body, There is slightly high carbonation and not a lot else.

An average, bitter beer overall with not a lot happening to keep me interested. It was plain but drinkable, if slightly too reliant on the malty smell and taste.

Nut brown and beautiful with some reflections, creamy foam with good stout malt. Smells a bit burnt, but the aroma is not very strong. Gradually tapering aftertaste based on milky and broad-range hops (comm.: this is taken verbatim from my field notebook, I am not sure what it means). Tastes of stale meat, erasers and brussel sprouts. A bit too insisting bitterness, but not a bad beer.

500ml bottle. Pour is a clear, dark copper, lots of activity in the glass. Fizzy, foamy white head doesnt hang about. Musty, toasted malt in the aroma, with a hint of cinnamon sugary icing sweetness and lingering in the background. Spice and nuts in the flavour, along with more bready malt. Not getting much if any cinnamon. Pleasantly light bodied, carbonation not huge but its there alright. Slightly cardboardy in the finish, which lets it down a bit. Not overly complex and lacks any big robust flavours, but drinkable.

Bottle, I suppose this could be regarded as seasonal fun - but I didn’t really like the cinnamon flavour - it was too up front. I don’t like mulled wine either for similar reasons.

Bottle. Appearance: Red/amber , tiny white head. Aroma: Slightly malty, a little dark fruit, very mild spices, caramel, difficult to detect much of an aroma. Flavour: Malt, caramel, a little cinnamon, honey, grassy, long dry malty finish.

This beer pours a clear amber color with a medium thin and foamy light beige head that disappears quickly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt and a touch of spice. Light-bodied with flavors of bready malt, cinnamon and caramel. The finish is sweet with a short malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.
