A Mes rate:
Cask at the Market Porter. Nice mid amber colour. Sweet caramel malt aroma with some grassy hoppage underneath. More sweetish caramel malt in the flavour with a dusty and fruity finish. Mellow and drinkable lower abv stuff.

Cask served at East Quay Bar in Whitstable. Standard ale colour, very flat and too cold. Rather watery, with dry, earthy finish but little hop character. The fact you get it in a plastic pint ’glass’ (especially in the depths of winter when you’re not going to take it out onto the beach) knocks a couple of points straight off the overall.
