A popular bitter to tempt those who like a darker malty brew with plenty of flavour, not too much hop and at a strength where you can make a night of it.

On tap somewhere in the breakaway republic of the Dengie Peninsula! Clear dark brown beer. Metallic malt on the nose, carries over to the taste. A little fresh hop peeps through. Fairly neutral palate. Drinkable.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise. Pours a clear, light amber with no head. Aroma holds faint caramel and some earthy hops. Mild flavor, has some brown sugar and caramel, some berries and citrus. Light bodied with tingly carbonation. Modest bitter finish, some herbs and bread. So so.
