COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottled. Previously 3.6%. Replaced by Dengie IPA (different recipe).
A popular bitter to tempt those who like a darker malty brew with plenty of flavour, not too much hop and at a strength where you can make a night of it.

On tap somewhere in the breakaway republic of the Dengie Peninsula! Clear dark brown beer. Metallic malt on the nose, carries over to the taste. A little fresh hop peeps through. Fairly neutral palate. Drinkable.

Bottled at Stortford Beer Festival 2011. A hazy dark amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of hops.

Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain - caramel, light to light moderate hoppy, light to moderate yeasty. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20110729]

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise. Pours a clear, light amber with no head. Aroma holds faint caramel and some earthy hops. Mild flavor, has some brown sugar and caramel, some berries and citrus. Light bodied with tingly carbonation. Modest bitter finish, some herbs and bread. So so.
