COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - September & October. Also available bottled.
Note: Recipe may change each year.

Made with 100% Maris Otter pale malt this is a lighter beer, golden in colour with a fresh hop flavour.
Bittering hops are English Challenger with the flavour and aroma hops being a blend of brewing hops grown not only at our own hopyard but also from the gardens of 3 of our favourite pubs!
This year Hop Harvest contains the following flavour/aroma hops: From the Wibblers Brewery Hopyard - Cascade, Fuggles, Essex Goldings ;-) and Yeoman. From the Bell at Castle Hedingham (www.hedinghambell.co.uk) where they’ve re-planted a hopyard from the 1900’s we’ve got Bramling Cross, Fuggles and WGV (Whitbread Golding Variety) Jim at the Queens Head Burnham-on-Crouch (www.grayandsons.co.uk/queenshburnham.htm) where you can always find a superb pint of our IPA we’ve some Wye Challenger and finally but not least Martin & Maggie from the Station Arms Southminster (www.thestationarms.co.uk) have once again let us have the hops from their pub garden. We’re unsure of the variety but we think they’re Fuggles given where they originally came from.
The 15kg of hops used this year are picked fresh from the bine and within hours added at the end of the boil to give a real fresh hop finish.

Lightly hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light, airy and minerally crisp. Thin malt, pretty neutral. Super light tangy hops. Mild citrus and dried fruits. Whisper of lemon. Minerally crisp finish. Somehow hangs together and works well!

Quite mild in flavours with a slightly thin palate but this balances yeasty malt nicely with dry hops to make a really drinkable beer. Not bad.

(Bottle). Pours thin white head, good covering, persisting well. Hazy straw colour. Mid carbonation. Unusually, intensely fresh hop aroma, typically English; spicy, herbal, grassy, leafy, bit floral. A sort of honeyish sweetness to the aroma too. Taste - Quite sweet. Nice, fresh, oily hop flavours, sweet fruit (some grape) and a bit of a herbally/spicy tang coming later, giving a slightly dry finish and leaving some nice, spicy hop aromas lingering for a short time. Not much bitterness throughout either, considering the aromas and flavours present. A decent, sweet, light caramelly malt backbone that doesn’t detract from or compete with the hops. Mid-light body, little bit oily, refreshing, but not watery. Good flavours and aromas for the strength. Quite a good showcasing of the aroma, flavour and complexity of good, fresh hops. And pretty drinkable and tasty too!

Sulfury, but lovely full hops and honey in the aroma. Taste comes over as reminding me of conifers. Super-sulfury hoppy finish.
